KPD Investigates a Crash on Stan Schuleter Loop
Killeen Police investigate an early afternoon crash on Stan Schuleter Loop.
Officers responded to Stan Schuleter Loop and Bowles Drive on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at 1:32pm, after one of the officers notified communications that he had been involved in a crash and requested EMS. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a police Chevy Tahoe and silver Chevy Malibu with major damage.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the marked unit occupied with two officers was traveling westbound on Stan Schuleter Loop when the female driver of the Malibu attempted to cross five lanes of traffic northbound onto Bowles Drive into the path of the oncoming Tahoe, causing the Tahoe to collide with the passenger side of the Malibu.
One officer was transported to Seton Hospital, the other officer was transported to Metroplex Hospital and the female driver was transported to the Carl R. Darnall Medical Center; all with non-life threatening injuries.
The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this crash and information will be released as it becomes available.

Killeen Police Arrest Robbery Suspects
Killeen Police Arrest Aggravated Robbery Suspects.
Officers responded to the Point Liquor 6, located at 1312 E Rancier Ave., on Monday, July 27, 2015, at 12:28pm, after receiving a 911 call that the store had just been robbed. Upon the officers arrival they were told that an armed black male, wearing a long sleeve shirt, jeans and a red bandana on his face, had demanded money then fled the store. A witness saw the male running from the store southbound and provided officers with the description and license plate number for the vehicle that the male entered. Officers located the suspect vehicle just after 12:30pm; a traffic stop was conducted at Old FM 440 and Circle M. After further investigation, the three male occupants were taken into custody and transported to the Killeen City Jail.
The case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and a complaint was returned on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, charging 44 year old Stanley Lamorris Nicholes and 25 year old Andre Lazar Crowley Jr., with Aggravated Robbery. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Nicholes and Crowley, issuing a $100,000.00 bond for each. Both men have been transferred to the Bell County Jail. The third male was released without charges.

KPD Investigates Aggravated Robbery and Evading Arrest Offenses
Killeen Police are investigating Aggravated Robbery and Evading Arrest offenses.
Officers responded to the Gateway Food Mart located at 100 E. Hallmark on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at 5:32pm, after receiving a 911 call telling them the store had just been robbed. Upon the officers arrival they were told that an armed black male wearing a gray shirt, jeans and a red bandana on his face, had demanded money then fled the store. There were no injuries during this Robbery.
As the officers were searching the area in the 200 block of E. Bryce, a witness observed a white Ford Escape SUV hit a vehicle and begin to flee the area. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle however the driver began accelerating and fleeing from the officer. The suspect in the hit and run drove north on S. Gray then westbound on E. Hallmark at a high rate of speed. A pursuit ensued; the officer continued to pursue the suspect when the vehicle hit a dip at Florence and W. Hallmark causing the vehicle to vault into the air coming down in the 100 block of W. Hallmark and hitting a telephone pole. The driver then attempted to flee from the vehicle but fell to the ground due to an injury to his leg. The driver was transported by ambulance to the Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple in serious condition.

KPD Identifies Victim From Hit & Run on 195
Killeen Police investigate early morning crash that sends two people to the hospital.
Officers responded to the 2800 block of S. Fort Hood St. at 1:55am, on May 25, 2015, after receiving a 911 call telling them about a pedestrian getting hit by a vehicle.
Upon the officer’s arrival they located two females who had been hit by a vehicle in the 2800 block of S. Fort Hood St. Witnesses told the officer that a 28 year old female was crossing from the west side of the roadway to the east side and as she was crossing on foot, a tan midsize vehicle traveling in the outside lane, struck the female knocking her to the ground; the vehicle continued traveling southbound, fleeing the area. A female who was inside a restaurant, heard the witnesses and went outside to assist the injured female, as the nurse was assisting the victim, a Honda that was traveling southbound in the inside lane struck both females. The nurse was struck knocking her away from the other female and the first female victim was run over by vehicle.
UPDATE- The female who was crossing the roadway and was struck twice, Kyesha Lashell Harris-Foster, succumbed to her injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased at Baylor Scott & White Hospital on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 10:12am, by Justice of the Peace Barfield. There will not be an autopsy ordered.
The KPD Traffic Unit Investigators continue to investigate this crash and advised the tan midsized vehicle that fled the scene will be missing the drive’s side mirror and have damage to the front left of the vehicle. This vehicle has not been located.

KPD Investigates Suspicious Person in Lions Park
On Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at 3:28pm, officers responded to a suspicious person call at the Lions Park, located at 1600 E. Stan Schlueter Loop. The caller said that an elderly Asian female had offered cookies to their child and had also picked up another child without the parent’s permission. The officers arrived at 3:31pm and located the elderly female at the Senior Center and soon realized that there was a language barrier, as the female did not speak English. The officers spoke with the female’s family member and it was determined that there was no malicious intent on her part and that she was just being friendly with the children. After officers spoke with the female and her family member, the female understood that it was not the proper thing to do. There have been no other reports of a female attempting to take children. The officers who responded to Lions Park did not feel there was a threat to the children and felt this was a cultural difference involving the elderly female.

Killeen Police Investigating Jewelry Theft
On June 19, 2015, at approximately 8:54 pm, a Felony Theft occurred at the Zales Jewelry Store located in the Killeen Mall.
The suspect entered the store wanting to see bridal rings so the associate showed him a 4 CT TW bridal ring. The subject then asked to see another piece so the associate placed the first item back into the showcase and pulled out a second piece. The subject then stated that he wanted to see both pieces to compare side-by-side. The associate pulled the first piece out of the case. At this time, the suspect grabbed the merchandise from her hand and ran out of the store taking the two bridal rings valued at more than $13,000.
The suspect has been described as a black male with a salt and pepper mustache, in his mid 50’s to early 60’s. He stands approximately 6’0 and weighs approximately 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light blue button down shirt and an off white newsboy cap.

KPD Locate Wanted Man

On Thursday, July 9, 2015, at approximately 4:50pm, the Fort Hood Directorate of Emergency Services located and arrested 21 year old Brandon Anthony Warren and he was subsequently transferred to the Killeen City Jail. Warren was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin on July 10, 2015 and set his bond at $1,000,000. He is currently in the Killeen City Jail.
The Killeen Police Department is asking for assistance in locating Brandon Anthony Warren of Killeen.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are looking for Brandon Anthony Warren, who is currently wanted for Injury to a Child. On Monday, July 6, 2015, Killeen Police responded to the apartments located in the 1000 block of Wells Circle, to a report of a child not breathing. A 21 month old black male infant was transported from the apartment to McLane Children’s Scott & White Hospital, where attempts to resuscitate him failed and he was pronounced deceased.
Following an investigation by the Killeen Police Department Youth Services section and an autopsy at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science, the Bell County District Attorney’s Office issued a complaint charging Warren with Injury to a Child in relation to the infant’s death. A warrant for Warren’s arrest was issued by Bell County Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin.
Brandon Anthony Warren is a 21 year old black male. He is 5’11” tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

KPD Needs the Community Assistance Locating a Wanted Man
The Killeen Police Department is asking for assistance in locating Brandon Anthony Warren of Killeen.

KPD Investigates Shooting at Long Branch Park
Killeen Police are investigating a late night shooting incident.
Officers responded to Metroplex Hospital at about 10:30pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2015, to a report of a gunshot victim(s). Upon the officers’ arrival they made contact with two victims with gunshot wounds; an 18 year old black female, and a 21 year old black male, both residents of Killeen. The victims reported that they had been shot while in their vehicle in Long Branch Park by the occupants of a second vehicle. Both victims were subsequently transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital, where they were treated and released.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting is possibly related to an ongoing dispute between the occupants of both vehicles.
