Killeen Police Investigating Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash on Rosewood Drive
Killeen, TX (July 30, 2026): Investigators with the Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of one driver.
On Thursday, July 30, 2026, at approximately 3:01 a.m., the Killeen Police and Fire Departments responded to a reported vehicle fire in the 4100 block of Rosewood Drive. Upon arrival, first responders discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a wooded area east of the roadway and was engulfed in flames.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2015 Dodge Journey SUV was traveling southbound on Rosewood Drive at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control while negotiating a curve. The vehicle crossed the median and the northbound lanes before leaving the roadway and entering a wooded area, where it struck a tree and caught fire.
The vehicle was destroyed by the fire, trapping the driver inside. Investigators determined the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at 3:05 a.m. Judge Johnson ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. The driver’s identity is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
The Traffic Unit continues to investigate this fatality and there is no additional information at this time.

Killeen Police Identifies Victim in Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash
Killeen, Texas (July 27, 2026): Investigators with the Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit have identified the victim as Faith L. Sidman, 25, of Springfield, Oregon.
Investigators have identified and located the 2020 GMC pickup in which Sidman was a passenger. The driver of the vehicle has also been identified, and charges are pending review by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation has determined that Sidman exited the GMC pickup while it was traveling westbound on Interstate 14. Evidence and video footage have confirmed that one vehicle subsequently struck Sidman after she came to rest in the roadway. The driver of that vehicle remained at the scene and is not facing any charges.
Investigators have also determined that Sidman was struck by at least one additional vehicle that did not remain at the scene and has not yet been identified.

NEWS RELEASE: FATAL AUTO-PEDESTRIAN CRASH ON INTERSTATE 14 UNDER INVESTIGATION
Killeen, Texas (July 23, 2026) – On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at approximately 10:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of an auto-pedestrian crash on Interstate 14.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 25-year-old female in a westbound traffic lane.
Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was a passenger in an unidentified vehicle and either exited or was forced from the vehicle while it was traveling westbound at highway speed. Witnesses were unable to provide a description of the vehicle.
The victim came to rest in the outside westbound lane and was subsequently struck by an Audi sedan. The driver of the Audi immediately stopped and remained at the scene. Other motorists also stopped and assisted by preventing the victim from being struck by additional vehicles.
Investigators have identified a potential suspect who was driving the vehicle from which the victim exited or was forced.
Justice of the Peace Nicola James pronounced the victim deceased at the scene at 10:43 p.m.
The name of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
