Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 14 Under Investigation

Killeen, Texas (July 23, 2026) – On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at approximately 10:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of an auto-pedestrian crash on Interstate 14.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 25-year-old female in a westbound traffic lane.

Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was a passenger in an unidentified vehicle and either exited or was forced from the vehicle while it was traveling westbound at highway speed. Witnesses were unable to provide a description of the vehicle.

The victim came to rest in the outside westbound lane and was subsequently struck by an Audi sedan. The driver of the Audi immediately stopped and remained at the scene. Other motorists also stopped and assisted by preventing the victim from being struck by additional vehicles.

Investigators have identified a potential suspect who was driving the vehicle from which the victim exited or was forced.

Justice of the Peace Nicola James pronounced the victim deceased at the scene at 10:43 p.m.

The name of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
