Killeen Police Investigate Pedestrian/Vehicle Hit and Run Crash on S. Fort Hood Street

Officers responded to the 1600 block of S. Fort Hood St. on Monday, October 30, 2017, at 11:26 p.m., after receiving a 911 call telling them that two people had been hit by two different vehicles.  Upon the officers arrival they located a male and female lying in the roadway. The 28 year-old male was immediately airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital with life threatening injuries.  The 28 year-old female was transported Baylor Scott & White Hospital in serious but stable condition.

The preliminary investigation revealed the male was crossing the roadway east to west in the 1600 block of S. Fort Hood Street a couple of feet behind the female.  An unknown vehicle traveling southbound struck the male and fled the scene.  The female ran back to assist the male when a second vehicle that was traveling southbound, struck the female and the male.  This vehicle also fled the scene.

One of the vehicles may have been a maroon or red, 1990’s, model Toyota sedan.

KPD Locates Wanted Man for Aggravated Robbery

October 30, 2017 – UPDATE

 The Killeen Police Department received information on the whereabouts of 17 year-old Lazarus Israel Duaquon Bush, who was wanted for Aggravated Robbery.  Today, at approximately 5:02 p.m., with the assistance of the United States Marshal Service – Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division and the Tactical Response Unit located Bush in the 2900 block of Cantabrian Drive.  Bush was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Killeen City Jail.

KPD Needs Help Locating a Wanted Man

Killeen Police need help locating a wanted man who is believed to be Armed and Dangerous.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division have been conducting an investigation into a series of robberies that occurred between October 15, 2017 and October 27, 2017.  As a result of the investigation, a warrant for Aggravated Robbery has been issued for Lazarus Israel Duaquon Bush.

Lazarus Israel Duaquon Bush is a 17 year-old black male, approximately 6’ tall and weighing 275 pounds.

Do not attempt to apprehend this wanted person yourself, as he is considered ARMED and DANGEROUS!

Local Agencies Conduct Search Warrant

On Thursday, October 26, 2017, detectives with the Killeen Police Department and the Harker Heights Police Department conducted a search warrant for narcotics in Harker Heights, with the assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).  Through the investigation, the Killeen Police Department received information about narcotic activity by the suspect.

The search warrant resulted in the seizure of a large amount of marijuana, multiple weapons and a large amount of US Currency. One suspect was arrested and transported to the Killeen City Jail.

This case continues to be investigated and information will be provided as it becomes available.

Killeen Police Investigate an Overnight Fatality Crash on Elms Road

On Thursday, October 26, 2017, at approximately 11:34 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 4400 block of Elms Road in reference a 911 call about a crash involving a motorcycle.  Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a male lying on the side of the road.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the operator of the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Elms Road.  The operator failed to negotiate the turn, leaving the roadway and striking the pole.  The male victim, 46 year-old Xavier La Monde Banks succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:40 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017, by Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown.  An autopsy has been ordered at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this crash and information will be released as it becomes available.

UPDATE – KPD Executes Search Warrant for Narcotics

October 27, 2017 – UPDATE

On Thursday, October 26, 2017, Ryan Anthony O’Neal was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown and set his bond at $100,000.  O’Neal will be transported to the Bell County Jail.

Killeen Police Department executes a search warrant at a local residence.

On Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 5:12 a.m., the Killeen Police Department Organized Crime Unit and Criminal Investigation Division, with assistance of the Killeen SWAT team, executed a narcotics search warrant in the 3900 block of Bur Oak Drive.  During the execution of the search warrant, Ryan Anthony O’Neal 19 was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Killeen City Jail for an outstanding arrest warrant for Theft of a Firearm.  During the search of the residence detectives recovered an unspecified amount of narcotics and property stolen in a previous residential burglary.

One other person was in the residence and was released at the scene.

Killeen Police Department executes a search warrant at a local residence.

On Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 5:12 a.m., the Killeen Police Department Organized Crime Unit, Criminal Investigation Division and SWAT (Specialized Weapons And Tactics), executed a narcotics search warrant in the 3900 block of Bur Oak Drive.  During the execution of the search warrant, a man with an outstanding arrest warrant for Theft of a Firearm, 19 year-old Ryan Anthony ONeal, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Killeen City Jail.

During the search of the residence detectives recovered an unspecified amount of narcotics, and property stolen in a previous residential burglary.

One other person was in the residence and was released at the scene.

Killeen Police is seeking the community’s help in identifying a suspect

Officers were dispatched at 5:12 p.m. to the Boost Mobile Store located at 316 East Rancier Avenue on Friday, September 22, 2017, in reference to a Theft that had just occurred.  Upon the officers’ arrival, the store employees reported that a black male entered the store and asked to look at a phone.  When the employee retrieved the phone for the male to look at, the male ran out of the store with the phone.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” tall and was last seen wearing a black shirt and gray shorts.

Killeen Police Department Seeks Two People of Interest

Killeen Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying two people of interest.

On Sunday, August 6, 2017, Officers received information about a theft that occurred in the 1400 block of Lowes Blvd.  The victim reported that an unknown person stole her wallet from her purse and made an unauthorized transaction at a Killeen Wal-Mart using her debit card.

During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to obtain photographs of two females.

Killeen Police Investigate a late night Shooting

Officers were dispatched to Northeast Killeen at approximately 8:58 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017, after receiving a 911 call in reference to two shooting victims. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located two male victims, a 14 year-old and a 15 year-old, suffering from gunshot wounds. The 15 year-old was transported to the Baylor Scott and White Hospital in critical condition and the 14 year-old was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Through the investigation it was revealed that this incident was motivated by a Robbery which led detectives to the suspect. A 16 year-old male suspect was identified and arrested. He was taken into custody and is currently in the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center.
