Killeen Police Investigating Shooting on Herndon Drive
Killeen, TX (June 26, 2026): Two individuals were injured during a shooting Thursday evening in the 1900 block of Herndon Drive, and detectives with the Killeen Police Department are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, at approximately 8:42 p.m., officers with the Killeen Police Department responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a shooting in the 1900 block of Herndon Drive.
One caller reported he had been shot and needed assistance, advising that the suspect had fled the area. Around the same time, another caller reported that a family member had arrived home suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers responded to both locations and determined that the two victims had been shot during the same incident.
The preliminary investigation revealed that four individuals, who are believed to know one another, were involved in a disturbance that escalated into gunfire. Investigators learned that two individuals fled the scene on foot following the shooting.
An 18-year-old male victim was transported by helicopter to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center and is currently listed in stable condition. A 15-year-old male victim was transported to the hospital by a family member, where he was treated and released.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division continue to actively investigate this incident.

Killeen Police Release Identities in Fatal Stan Schlueter Loop Crash
UPDATE (June 2, 2026): The driver of the Toyota SUV has been identified as Andre Richmond. The female passenger in the Kia SUV has been identified as Rosa Hernandez.
The 77-year-old male driver of the Kia remains hospitalized and is currently listed in serious but stable condition.
The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit’s investigation remains active and ongoing.

NEWS RELEASE: KILLEEN POLICE INVESTIGATE A FATAL CRASH ON STAN SCHLUETER LOOP
Killeen, TX (June 1, 2026): The Killeen Police Department is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Monday morning on Stan Schlueter Loop.
On Monday, June 1, 2026, at approximately 7:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East Stan Schlueter Loop in reference to a two-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered that two SUVs had collided.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a gray Toyota SUV was traveling westbound in the inside lane of Stan Schlueter Loop when it crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a silver Kia SUV head-on. There are indications that the driver of the Toyota may have been impaired at the time of the crash.
The 41-year-old male driver of the Toyota was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at 7:56 a.m. An autopsy has been ordered and will be performed at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Kia was occupied by a 77-year-old male driver and a 73-year-old female passenger. Both were transported to the hospital by Killeen Fire Department EMS. The driver was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center and is currently listed in critical condition. The passenger succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center by Justice of the Peace Wilkey at 8:33 a.m. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the crash with assistance from the Criminal Investigation Division. No additional information is available at this time.
