Killeen Police Identifies Female Murder Victim

Killeen, TX (March 25, 2022): Killeen Police have identified the female victim as 18-year-old Revierra Elizabeth Aline Gibson.

On Friday, March 25, 2022, this case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and two complaints were returned charging 17-year-old Ruben Joel Fuentes Jr. with two counts of Murder. Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson arraigned Fuentes and he set his bond at $1,000,000 on each Murder charge. Fuentes is awaiting transport to the Bell County Jail.

NEWS RELEASE: KILLEEN POLICE CONDUCT A LATE-NIGHT MURDER INVESTIGATION

Killeen, TX (March 24, 2022): Killeen Police are investigating the death of two people on Brook Drive.

On Thursday, March 24, 2022, at approximately 2:41 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Brook Drive in reference to a 911 call about a shooting victim. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located two deceased people with gunshot wounds. One person was subsequently taken into custody.

Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson pronounced the 15-year-old male victim deceased at 3:26 a.m. and the unidentified female victim at 3:38 a.m. He ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

This makes the tenth and eleventh Murder for the City of Killeen in 2022.

Killeen Police Conduct a Late-Night Murder Investigation

Killeen, TX (March 24, 2022): Killeen Police are investigating the death of two people on Brook Drive.

Killeen, TX (March 22, 2022): Killeen Police are actively investigating the ninth Murder in the City of Killeen.

Officers with the Killeen Police Department were dispatched on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at approximately 5:03 p.m., to the 13000 block of State Highway 195 in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located two victims who had been shot.
One victim, a 52-year-old female, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at 6:56 p.m. He ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. The name of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The second victim received non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released at the scene.

KILLEEN POLICE CONDUCTS A RAILROAD CROSSING SAFETY DETAIL

Killeen, TX (March 23, 2022): Killeen Police conduct a railroad detail at the tracks located on State Highway 195.

On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, Officers with the Traffic Unit and with the assistance of Days B squad, they conducted a railroad detail due to recent concerns from the public and the media. Their focus was to bring awareness to the community about railroad crossing and safety.

Between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00pm, the following violations occurred in the officer’s presence at this location.

• 35 citations for Stopped on the Tracks
• 1 citation for no Driver’s License

Traffic officers also monitored the railroad track area near Killeen High School and did not observe any violations for trespassing on railroad property.

Killeen Police Conduct a Shooting Investigation on Dunn Avenue

Killeen, TX (March 19, 2022): Killeen Police are investigating a shooting that sent three individuals to the hospital.

On Saturday, March 19, 2022, at approximately 5:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of College Street and Dunn Avenue in reference to a 911 call about a shooting victim. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located three people suffering from gunshot wounds. They were all transported to Baylor Scott & White in Temple with non-life-threatening injuries. They are currently listed in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a green Ford Mustang, occupied by three persons, was traveling near Dunn Avenue and 8th Street when shots were fired. They continue to travel westbound on Dunn Avenue when they lost control of the vehicle at College Street and struck a parked gray car. The impact of the collision struck a 10-year-old child that was standing between the parked gray car and a parked blue SUV. The child was airlifted to McLane Children’s Hospital. He is currently listed in stable condition.

Killeen Police Officer Arrested for Assault

Killeen, TX (March 16, 2022): A Killeen Police Officer is in custody for an assault charge.

On March 2, 2022, the Killeen Police Department received notification from the Georgetown Police Department of an investigation they were conducting regarding the conduct of an off-duty Killeen Police Officer.

Georgetown Police were notified of a domestic disturbance that had occurred involving a Killeen Police Officer while off-duty. Through the investigation, it revealed that the officer had been involved in a domestic disturbance at his residence in Georgetown.

Detectives with the Georgetown Police Department obtained a complaint and an arrest warrant charging 40 -year-old James Craigg with Assault with Bodily Injury on a Family Member.

Craigg has been with the Department since February of 2007 and is assigned to the Patrol Division. He is currently on administrative leave with pay while an Internal Affairs investigation is completed.
The Killeen Police Department is a Civil Service Agency that must follow the local Civil Service Rules and state law that outlines the due process procedures for allegations of misconduct. This process includes the affected employee’s pay status.

Chief Kimble stated “We hold the officers of the Killeen Police Department to the highest standards, both on and off duty. The criminal investigation is being investigated by the Georgetown Police Department and the Killeen Police Department has initiated an Internal Affairs investigation to follow the due process procedure set forth by Civil Service Rules.”

Killeen Police Investigate a Hit and Run Crash

Killeen, TX (March 15, 2022): Killeen Police investigate a hit and run crash involving a pedestrian. 

On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at approximately 4:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4800 block of John David Drive in reference to a crash involving a pedestrian. Upon the officers arrival, they located a 13-year-old male child suffering from injuries after being struck by a black vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to McLane Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed that three children were playing basketball in the roadway in the 4800 block of John David Drive, when a black vehicle traveling westbound approached the area where they were playing. The driver of the black sedan struck one of the children and fled the area westbound on John David Drive.  

The following description was provided of the vehicle/driver:

Vehicle: Black four door sedan (possibly Kia)

Driver: Black female in her 20’s, with long blonde dreadlock style hair and was wearing black clothing.

Killeen Police Investigate a Murder on Illinois Avenue

Killeen, TX (March 14, 2022) Killeen Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old male.

On Thursday, March 10, 2022, at approximately 10:32 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Village at Fox Creek Apartments located 2900 Illinois Avenue in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located a male lying in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately started to perform life saving measures. He was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in critical condition.

The victim, Nicholas Gage Debrum, succumbed to his injuries on Friday, March 11, 2022 and was pronounced deceased at 11:31 a.m. by Justice of the Peace GW Ivey.

Killeen Police Identify and Charge Suspect

Killeen, TX (March 14, 2022): A 39-year-old male has been charged in the death of two children.

On Sunday, March 13, 2022, this case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and returned two complaints charging Kendrick Donnell Gaines with Capital Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Gaines and set his bond at $2.5 million. Gaines is currently awaiting transport to the Bell County Jail.

The female victim has been released from the hospital.

NEWS RELEASE: KILLEEN POLICE INVESTIGATE A MURDER ON VEGA

Killeen, TX (March 12, 2022): Killeen police investigate the death of two juveniles during a domestic disturbance.

On Saturday, March 12, 2022, at approximately 11:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Vega Drive in reference to a 911 call about a gunshot victim. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a 38-year-old female suffering with a gunshot wound. She was immediately transported by EMS to Baylor Scott & White in stable condition. Officers were then told that there were two female children inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. A 6-year-old was immediately airlifted to McLane Children’s Hospital in critical condition and an 11-year-old, had no signs of life. She was pronounced deceased at 11:57 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the adult female and her spouse were involved in a domestic disturbance when shots were fired. Officers located and arrested the spouse, and he was transported to the Killeen City Jail. It was determined that the third victim was unharmed and all parties involved are related.

At approximately 12:20 p.m., the 6-year-old child succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by medial staff.

The adult female is currently in stable condition and is expected to recover from her injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and at this time no other information will be released.
