Killeen Police Arrest Suspect from Hit and Run Fatality
Killeen, TX (December 12, 2022): The Killeen Police Department Robbery-Homicide Unit identified a suspect in this case. The individual voluntarily came to the police department and spoke with to detectives.
This case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and a complaint was returned Charging 35-year-old Chakria Dominique Lee with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. An arrest warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Friday, December 9, 2022, with the assistance of the United States Marshals Office – Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, Lee was located and arrested. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke and set her bond at $1,000,000. Lee is currently in the Bell County Jail.

NEWS RELEASE: Killeen Police Investigate the Hit and Run Fatality of a 39-year-old Female
Killeen, TX (December 5, 2022): Killeen Police are actively investigating a Hit and Run of a 39-year-old female.
On Saturday, December 4, 2022, at approximately 9:58 p.m., officers were dispatched to a 911 call in reference to a automobile vs pedestrian at S. Ft. Hood Road Street and West Lane. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a female suffering from serious injuries. Officers started to perform life saving measures until paramedics arrived.
The victim, Latasha Suzanna Brenda Wright, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at 10:43 p.m.
The suspect driver fled the scene in a light-colored pickup prior to their arrival. No arrests have been made at this time.
Detectives are actively investigating this Hit and Run and there is no additional information at this time.
