Killeen Police and the Community join Together for National Night Out

Killeen, TX (October 1, 2021): Community members are invited to participate in the annual National Night Out event.

National Night Out is a campaign that enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.

National Night Out is designed to:
• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
• Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships
• Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

National Night Out is an annual event held on the first Tuesday in October. From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on October 5th, residents in neighborhoods throughout Killeen and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.

If you host a block party in your neighborhood, we encourage you to use the following hashtag. #KilleenNNO2021
