Killeen Police Investigate a Homicide on Alpine Street

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at approximately 10:59 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Alpine Street in reference to a 911 call about a gunshot victim.   Upon the officers’ arrival, they located an unresponsive male sitting inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.  Officers immediately began to perform life saving measures until paramedics arrived. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim arrived at a residence and had a verbal altercation with a female.  A male friend of the female intervened and became engaged in a physical altercation.  After the two males separated, the victim displayed a knife, and the suspect retrieved a handgun and fired a gunshot towards the victim.  A suspect was identified and detained.   

The victim, Jared Michael Tristan, 29, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division continue to investigate this Murder and information will be released as it becomes available.
