Two Men Charged in Hallmark Homicide

UPDATE – August 30, 2019

Through the investigation, detectives were able to identify multiple suspects involved in this case. On Friday, August 30, 2019, the Bell County District Attorneys’ Office reviewed this case and returned two complaints charging 21 year-old Malik Devante Chrystal and 30 year-old Myshan Leandre Diggles with Deadly Conduct Discharging a Firearm towards Habitation, Building, or Person.  They were both arraigned by Justice of the Peace Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke and he set their bond at $200,000 each.  They have been transported to the Bell County Jail.

Killeen Police Investigate a Homicide on Hallmark.

On Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at approximately 11:06 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Hallmark Avenue in reference to a 911 call about a shooting victim.  Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a male lying in the parking lot of the apartment complex suffering from a gunshot wound.  Officers’ immediately started to perform life saving measures until paramedics arrived.  The victim was immediately transported to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition.

The victim, 18 year-old Zeontre Da’Shon Horton, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:35 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Daryl Peters. He ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

Through the investigation, a suspect has been identified and located.  The suspect is currently in the Killeen City Jail.  Charges are pending a review of the case by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office.

The Killeen Police Department Homicide Unit continues to investigate this incident and information will be released as it becomes available.
