KPD Identifies Adult Suspect in School Threat
UPDATE – August 30, 2019
On Thursday, August 29, 2019, this case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and a complaint was returned charging 18 year-old Cameron Lavonta Garner-Brown with Terroristic Threat. On Friday, August 30, 2019, Garner-Brown was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Daryl Peters and he set his bond at $100,000. Garner-Brown has been transported to the Bell County Jail.
The juvenile and Garner-Brown are brothers.

On Wednesday, August 28, 2019, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division were notified about a social media post that suggested a threat of violence to Ellison, Killeen and Shoemaker High Schools. The post on social media was discovered this evening, and detectives have been working diligently on these threats. With the cooperation of the social media providers, detectives were able to locate the suspect in this case. A search warrant was obtained and a 14 year-old juvenile and an adult male were arrested for Terroristic Threat.
“The Killeen Police Department takes these threats very seriously and acts promptly with respect to them to protect the students and staff of the Killeen Independent School District and the citizens of our community,” said Chief of Police Charles Kimble.
