KPD Arrests Suspect for Aggravated Robbery
Killeen Police arrest suspect responsible for cell phone robbery.
On Saturday, March 25, 2017, a male agreed to meet and sell a cell phone to a woman. The woman and her two children, met with the male in the 1800 block of Lowes Blvd. During the exchange, the male pointed a handgun at the woman and demanded her property. The woman complied and the male suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, Violent Crimes Unit, in a combined investigation with the Patrol Division and Burglary unit and newly established Community Oriented Policing Services Unit, determined the identity of the suspect.
This case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, and a complaint was returned charging 18 year-old Javon McKindrick Cromwell with Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon. Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown issued a warrant for his arrest. On May 11, 2017, officers located Javon Cromwell in the 4300 block of Waterproof Drive and placed him under arrest. Cromwell was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown and set his bond at $50,000.
