KPD Investigates Shooting on Dean Avenue
Killeen Police investigate a shooting on Dean Avenue.
Officers responded to the intersection of Dean Avenue and 8th Street, on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, after receiving a 911 call about a shooting just after 5:00 p.m. Upon the officers’ arrival, they were told the shooting victim had left the area. The 27 year-old male victim was located in the 100 block of Hoover Avenue, suffering from gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was immediately airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital.
After speaking with witnesses, the officers were told that a gold vehicle approached the victim’s vehicle, when gunshots were exchanged. Both vehicles fled the scene. Minimal suspect information was provided.
The shooting victim is currently listed in critical condition.
