The Killeen Police Department’s Homicide Unit is asking for the community’s assistance in locating Arsenio Joseph Griffin. He is a person of interest regarding the Homicide that occurred on Tucker Drive on November 9, 2015.
The Killeen Police Department is investigating a parking lot shooting on Tucker Drive.
Officer responded to a report of shots fired in the 2800 block of Tucker Drive on Monday, November 9, 2015, at 5:20pm. As the officers were responding, they were told that a man had been shot in the parking lot of 2814 Tucker. The officers arrived to find a 31 year old black male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, Robert Byrd Jr., was transported to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased by medical authorities at 8:28pm. Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

KPD Investigates Crash on Interstate Highway 14
Killeen Police investigate a late night crash on Interstate Highway 14.
Killeen Police responded to a 911 call in reference to a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11:22 p.m. Upon the officers’ arrival, they found a white male lying on the ground near the Trimmier Exit off ramp; he was immediately airlifted to the Baylor Scott and White Hospital in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a white Ford F350 was traveling westbound in the middle lane on IH-14 when the driver noticed a pedestrian attempting to cross northbound on the interstate. As the driver attempted to change lanes to the outside lane, the left side of her vehicle struck the pedestrian. A white Chevy Sonic and an unknown vehicle were also traveling westbound in the outside and exit lanes, when the pedestrian was seen in the roadway near the exit ramp. The pedestrian was struck first by the Chevy Sonic and subsequently struck by the unknown vehicle, which fled the scene. The occupants of the vehicles reported no injuries.
The current condition of the 44 year-old male pedestrian is critical but stable.
The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this crash and information will be released as it becomes available.

KPD Investigates a Pursuit
The Killeen Police Department is investigating a pursuit.
Killeen Police Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2007 GMC Suburban at the Long Branch Park located at 1101 Branch Drive, on March 15, 2017, at approximately 11:51 p.m. for a curfew violation. The suspect driver refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect driver continued to flee from officers through the nearby neighborhood at high rate of speed. The suspect driver continued traveling southbound on W.S. Young Drive towards the East Gate. The suspect driver drove past the checkpoint onto Fort Hood before the barrier was deployed. The suspect vehicle was later located without a suspect. Narcotics were located inside the vehicle.

KPD Focuses on Extra Patrol
KPD Focusing on Extra Patrols on St. Patrick’s Day.
The Killeen Police Department will have extra patrols out on Friday, March 17, 2017, focusing on impaired drivers. The extra patrols are a result of the department’s participation in a Texas Department of Transportation funded grant known as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP). Officers working with the STEP program will focus on locating and arresting impaired or intoxicated drivers who are presenting a hazardous risk. It is the goal of this program to prevent potential injuries and loss of life to local drivers and travelers.
If you see a driver you believe to be impaired or driving recklessly, please call 911 with the vehicle’s description, direction of travel and license plate number if possible.

KPD Asking for Community’s Assistance in Subway Murder
Killeen Police are asking the community’s help to confirm the identity of this suspect.
Killeen Police responded to the Subway Restaurant located at 1100 Old FM 440 on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at 3:42 a.m., after receiving a 911 call about a robbery. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a male victim with a gunshot wound; he was immediately transported to the Baylor Scott & White Hospital in critical condition where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect entered the restaurant wearing a ski mask. The security guard on duty approached the suspect and words were exchanged. After words were exchanged, the victim was fatally shot. The suspect is described as a male of dark complexion, approximately 5’6” – 5’8” tall, wearing a dark gray sweatshirt, black shorts with red and white trim and white tennis shoes.

KPD Investigate a Home Invasion
Killeen Police investigate a late night Home Invasion/Shooting.
Killeen Police were dispatched to a 911 call in reference to a Burglary of a Habitation in progress on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at 11:20 p.m., in the 200 block of Mary Jane Street. Upon the officers’ arrival, the resident told them that an unknown person attempted to force entry into the residence.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the resident was inside the residence, when he heard loud banging and glass shattering. As suspects attempted to enter the home, the resident fired several shots towards the door, which caused the suspect(s) to flee the area. A short time later, investigation led to multiple suspects who were taken into custody. One suspect with a gunshot wound is currently hospitalized, and is listed in critical but stable condition. No other injuries were reported. Three additional suspects are currently in the Killeen City Jail pending charges.

KPD Arrests Murder Suspects
The Killeen Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, Homicide Unit and the Texas Rangers have been conducting an investigation of the Capital Murder at the Morgan Manor Apartments on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
During the course of the investigation, detectives received information that led them to three (3) adult suspects and one (1) juvenile suspect. This case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and complaints were issued charging the following adult suspects with the Murder of Rocky Wayne Marsh.
17 year-old Shamar Lamar Lewis, of Killeen. Lewis was already in the Killeen City Jail, following his arrest yesterday in the 1900 block of Bundrant for Retaliation in a separate case. Lewis was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke who set his bond at $1,000,000.
21 year-old James Tyshawn Pinkard, of Killeen. Pinkard was arrested at a residence in the 2000 block of Shoemaker Drive without incident and transported to the Killeen City Jail. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke who set his bond at $1,000,000.
21 year-old Erica Lane Brownlee, of Houston. Brownlee was in the Killeen City Jail on an unrelated charge. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke who set her bond at $1,000,000.
The fourth suspect, a juvenile, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center.

Capital Murder Victim has been Identified
UPDATE – March 10, 2017
The victim from the Capital Murder at the Morgan Manor Apartments has been identified as 38 year-old Rocky Wayne Marsh.

Officers responded to the 1500 block of Bundrant Drive at 8:08 p.m., on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, after receiving a 911 call in reference to a robbery. Upon the officers’ arrival they located a male victim lying on the ground, unconscious and not breathing; they immediately began performing CPR until Killeen Fire Department Paramedics arrival. Once the paramedics arrived, the victim was transported to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights. The victim succumbed to his injuries and Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced the victim deceased at 10:07 p.m.; an autopsy has been ordered to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.
The preliminary information that was received by officers revealed that the victim was in the parking lot of the Morgan Manor Apartments located at 1506 Bundrant Drive, when he was approached by three (3) or four (4) individuals. During the verbal altercation, the suspects robbed the victim and brutally attacked him, causing multiple injuries; the unidentified suspects fled the area in an unknown vehicle.

Person of Interest has been Located

Today at approximately 2:22 p.m., officers and detectives with the Killeen Police Department located and arrested 17 year old Shamar Lamar Lewis of Killeen for a felony warrant. Lewis is currently in the Killeen City Jail awaiting arraignment.
