Killeen Police investigate a social media threat.

This morning, the Killeen Police Department began receiving messages from concerned citizens regarding a social media post.  A user in a clown costume posted specific threats on social media regarding Halloween in Killeen.

Although the Killeen Police Department has no reason to believe at this time that the threats are credible, they are nonetheless disturbing and are being taken seriously.  These threats are being thoroughly investigated and although this post made no specific threats to the Killeen Independent School District, our department is working closely with KISD to keep them abreast of the situation.

The Killeen Police Department will be patrolling Killeen neighborhoods to help ensure a happy and safe Halloween for everyone.

The safety of our community is the Killeen Police Department’s number one priority.   We ask everyone to be aware of their surroundings and anyone with information regarding this or any other threats to public safety should contact the Killeen Police Department at 254-501-8800.
