KPD Investigates Hit & Run at CTE & Fort Hood Street
Killeen Police are investigating an afternoon Hit and Run crash on Fort Hood St. and Central Texas Expressway.
Officers responded to the area of Central Texas Expressway and Fort Hood St. on Friday, June 17, 2016, at 1:28pm, after receiving 911 calls advising them that a male had been hit by a vehicle. Upon the officers’ arrival they located a 33 year old male lying in the eastbound right turn lane on Central Texas Expressway at Fort Hood Street.
The officers were told that the male was in the crosswalk crossing from the south side of the roadway to the island in the middle of the roadway. A white older model Buick (possibly a LeSabre) with 5 spoke alloy silver rims and dark tinted windows, was turning onto Central Texas Expressway and hit the male in the crosswalk. The vehicle continued to turn and was seen leaving the area eastbound onto Central Texas Expressway and onto Highway 190 eastbound. Officers advised the vehicle will possibly have left front minor damage.
The victim was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in stable condition.
