KPD Conducting Death Investigation

The Killeen Police Department responded to a report of a man down at 1601 E. CTE, the Executive Inn, in the back parking lot, on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 7:48am.

Officers arrived and were told a citizen was driving on Grandon Dr., when they saw the male lying by the dumpster. The citizen stopped and attempted to see if the man needed assistance.

After they were unable to get a response, police were called.

The 54 year old Killeen man was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at 8:02am and an autopsy was ordered to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. Detectives did not find any signs of trauma to the body and are conducting a death investigation at this time.  The cause of death will be determined once the autopsy results have returned.

The man’s name has been withheld pending the notification of his next of kin.

This case continues to be investigated and information will be released as it becomes available.
