KPD Asking for Community’s Assistance Identifying Forgery Suspect

Killeen Police are asking for the community’s assistance identifying forgery suspect.

Detectives are investigating reports of fraudulent checks being deposited via an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Harker Heights on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 2:23 pm and Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 5:06 pm. The suspect then used the money obtained from the fraudulent deposits at the Killeen Wal-Mart as well as various ATMs and merchants in the Harker Heights and Dallas areas.

Detectives have provided photographs of the suspect.

KPD Investigates Shooting on Bacon Ranch Rd.

Killeen Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 1200 block of Bacon Ranch Road.

Killeen Police responded to a shooting, at the 1200 block of Bacon Ranch Road, on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at 12:01am. Upon the officer’s arrival, they found a 22 year old white male, in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was immediately transported to the Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital. The victim was taken directly into surgery and is in stable condition.

The name of the victim has been withheld due to the seriousness of injury.

The Criminal Investigations Division continues to investigate this incident and information will be released as it becomes available.

KPD Investigates Shooting on Botanical

Killeen Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 2300 block of Botanical Drive.

Officers responded to a 911 call of shots being fired, at the 2300 block of Botanical Drive on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at 5:21am. Upon their arrival, they spoke with witnesses in the area but were unable to locate a victim. At 5:36am officers were notified that their victim, a 28 year old male suffering from a gunshot wound, was dropped off at Metroplex Hospital.  The victim was subsequently transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

The preliminary information obtained by officers revealed that the victim was on Botanical Drive when he was shot.

The name of the victim is withheld at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

KPD Investigates Early Morning Homicide

Killeen Police are investigating an early morning shooting on Tidal Wave Dr.

Officers responded to the 4200 block of Tidal Wave Dr. at 1:42am, on Sunday, June 14, 2015, after receiving several 911 calls of shots being fired. Upon the officers’ arrival they located a 16 year old male suffering from a gunshot wound; he was unconscious and not breathing.  Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin pronounced the victim deceased at the scene at 2:36am; he ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.  The name of the victim will be withheld.

The preliminary information that was received by officers revealed the suspect(s) drove slowly past the house and began shooting in the direction of the victim.

The Criminal Investigations Division continues to investigate this incident and information will be released as it becomes available.

KPD Identifies Aquatics Center Burglars

On Saturday, June 6, 2015, KPD Burglary detectives responded to a reported burglary at the City of Killeen Lion’s Club Park Family Aquatics Center located at 1800 E Stan Schlueter Loop. The facility is an expansive water park with pools and water amusements.

Employees of the park advised that upon arriving to work at about 8:00am on June 6, 2015, they immediately discovered severe damage to the office and concession area. Large rocks were used to shatter windows which enabled entry into offices and food supply areas. The interior office had been ransacked in an apparent attempt to locate money and/or valuables. Many of the suspects were seen on surveillance video using the park’s pool and water facilities. Food and beverages taken from the park’s concession area were being eaten and wrappers and drink bottles were scattered about. Approximately $1000.00 worth of concession food items were taken from the park. A complete estimate of the damage sustained at the park is pending.

Burglary detectives immediately processed the scene for anything of evidentiary value and they began to view all video footage. One of the suspects depicted on video was identified within hours of police arrival.

On June 8th KPD Burglary detectives were able to locate all suspects observed on video and they were contacted and interviewed. These interviews led to the identification of all suspects who consisted of ten (10) juveniles and one (1) adult. A quantity of items stolen from the park were recovered and returned to park employees.

KPD Burglary detectives were able to obtain confessions from all suspects. This case will be referred to the Bell County Juvenile Attorney’s Office and to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office for adjudication.

The Killeen Police Department would like to thank everyone who assisted in identifying the suspects involved in this burglary.

This case continues to be investigated and information will be released as it becomes available.

Killeen Police Investigate Fatal Auto Pedestrian Crash on 195

The Killeen Police Department is investigating a fatal auto pedestrian crash on Fort Hood St.

Officers responded to 911 calls at 9:50pm, on Friday, June 5, 2015, telling them a person had been hit by a vehicle in the 1300 block of S. Fort Hood St. Upon the officers arrival they located a 65 year old male lying in the roadway.  The male was immediately airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital with life threatening injuries.

The preliminary report indicates the male was attempting to cross Fort Hood Street from the west side to the east side of the roadway. As he was crossing a black 2011 Mazda 6 that was traveling southbound in the inside lane truck the male.

Bahri Greci was pronounced deceased at 12:32am on June 6, 2015 by Justice of the Peace Don Engleking; there was no autopsy ordered.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this crash and information will be released as it becomes available.

Killeen Police Investigate Burgalry at Aquatics Park, Do You Know These Suspects?

Officers responded to the City of Killeen Aquatics Park located at 1800 E. Stan Schlueter Loop, at 8:14am, on Saturday, June 6, 2015.

The attendants told the officer when they arrived they found the office and the concession area burglarized.  The surveillance video revealed that several teenage males were seen in the area at approximately 12:30am and continued in and out of the park until approximately 5:00am.  The video also shows that the office area was burglarized at approximately 4:30am.  There are two Hispanic males and a black male seen burglarizing the office.  One of the Hispanic males is wearing dark colored jeans with blue plaid boxers under the jeans.  He also took off his black and white shirt to wrap around his face.  The other Hispanic male is wearing light colored jeans with dark plaid boxers underneath and a pink belt.  He is also wearing black tennis shoes with white trim and a dark colored cap with a white design on the front and back of the cap.  The black male is wearing red and black basketball shorts, black, red and white tennis shoes, a black long sleeve shirt and a black covering over his head.

Missing Elderly Female Found

Juliet Bernadette Son was found this morning at 7:00am, in the area of Alabaster and Obsidian Dr.   A passerby saw the news and recognized the elderly female and placed her in their vehicle while they waited for officers to arrive.    Ms. Son appeared to be in good shape however, as a precautionary measure, she  was transported to the Seton Medical Center Harker Heights.

 The Killeen Police Department would like to thank everyone who assisted our department in finding Juliet Son and getting her back safely.

KPD Searching for Missing Elderly Woman

Killeen Police searching for a missing elderly woman with Alzheimer’s disease.

The family of Juliet Bernadette Son reported her missing from the 6000 block of Flat Slate Dr. on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Juliet was last seen walking in the area of Serpentine and Obsidian just after 5:00pm. Juliet is a 71 years old black female who is 5’2” tall, weighing 120-125lbs. She has brown hair and gray eyes. Juliet was last seen wearing a blue shirt with white stripes, brown pants and a brown hat with flowers.  Juliet’s family advised that she is an Alzheimer’s patient who also takes medication regularly for other medical issues. She was not wearing her glass when she left.

The Killeen Police Department is asking anyone who locates Juliet Son, to call 911 immediately.

KPD Needs Help Identifying Debit Card Cloning Suspects

The Killeen Police Department is asking if anyone can identify these Debit Card Abuse Suspects.

On Friday, March 6, 2015, a citizen reported to officers that their debit/credit card information was compromised and suspects cloned the card to make multiple unauthorized purchases at stores in Killeen, Cedar Park, Round Rock and Austin.

Detectives obtained this photograph of the suspects.
