KPD Investigates Murder on Phoenix Drive

Killeen Police Investigate a Murder on Phoenix Drive.

On Saturday, June 9, 2018 at approximately 2:44 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Phoenix Drive after receiving a 911 call about a cardiac victim not breathing.  Upon the officers’ arrival they located a non-responsive, 29 year old female suffering from multiple wounds. Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown pronounced the female deceased at 3:20 p.m. and ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

This case is currently under investigation and information will released when it becomes available. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.

KPD asking for assistance in locating Aggravated Robbery suspect.

Killeen Police are asking for assistance in locating Lazarus Israel Duaquon Bush for Aggravated Robbery.

 

The Killeen Police Department Violent Crimes unit has been conducting an investigation into series of robberies between October 15, 2017 and October 18, 2017

A warrant for arrest was issued on October 19, 2017. Bush is described as a 17 year old black male, about 6 feet tall and weighing 275 pounds.

UPDATE KPD Conducts Death Investigation on Minthorn Dr.

UPDATE February 21, 2017

The deceased has been identified as Darin Edward Winder of Killeen.

 

Killeen Police conduct a death investigation on Minthorn Dr.

Officers responded to the 3100 block of Minthorn Dr. at 6:11 PM this evening, in reference a male who was trapped under a boat and trailer.  Upon their arrival, officers located the 53 years old Killeen man unresponsive in the driveway. CPR was performed by emergency responders, however they were unable to revive him and he succumbed to his injuries. Justice of Peace Claudia Brown pronounced the man deceased at 7:11 PM and no autopsy was ordered.

Killeen Police and Fire Departments investigate an early morning crash – UPDATE

UPDATE  – 8/12/2016 3:38PM

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced the driver of the SUV deceased at 9:36 am and has ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

Update – 8/12/2016 1:48 PM

Residents who reside at the Twin Creek Apts and 56th Street West may return to their homes.

Residents of 58th Street are still not clear.

KPD and KFD responded to a major crash on Friday, August 12, 2016, at 4:20 am at the Mickeys Convenience Store located at 4415 E VMB.   Upon the officers arrival they found a fuel tanker and a SUV on fire. Firefighters immediately attempted to contain the fire and officers began an evacuation process within immediate area.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the fuel tanker was refueling the gas pumps, when an SUV hit the tanker, causing a fire and explosion. The fire caused major damage to the convenience store, a Killeen fire truck and six additional vehicles. One casualty has been confirmed and no other injuries were reported. The name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.

This case continues to be investigated and more information will be released had it becomes available.
