Killeen Police Investigate a Major Crash on Robinett Road
Killeen, TX (April 30, 2026): Investigators with the Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit are investigating a crash that left two drivers injured while another vehicle fled the scene.
On April 30, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Killeen Police were dispatched to the 4000 block of Robinett Road in reference to a crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a blue Chevrolet Camaro and a silver Ford SUV had collided near the intersection of Robinett Road and Woodrow Drive.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the Camaro and another light-colored vehicle were traveling southbound at a high rate of speed, with witnesses reporting the vehicles were racing. The driver of the Camaro lost control and struck the Ford, which was traveling northbound in the inside lane, before spinning and leaving the roadway and coming to rest in the backyard of a residence.
The 24-year-old male driver of the Camaro was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in critical condition. The 26-year-old male driver of the Ford SUV was transported to Baylor Scott & White in stable condition.
At this time, the Traffic Unit is seeking assistance in identifying the light-colored vehicle that witnesses reported was racing the Camaro. The vehicle fled the scene southbound on Robinett Road at a high rate of speed.
