Victim in Shooting Investigation Dies from Injuries

Killeen, TX (September 18, 2021): On Thursday, September 16, 2021, the victim, Francine Martinez, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman at 10:25 p.m.

This investigation is currently being reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office to enhance the current charge on the suspect.

NEWS RELEASE: KILLEEN POLICE ARREST SUSPECT IN SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

Killeen, TX (September 7, 2021): Killeen Police arrest 24-year-old in a late night shooting on Elms Road.

On September 4, 2021, at approximately 1:54 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of W. Elms Road in reference to a shooting victim. As officers were in route to the scene, they were advised that a gunshot victim was at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights and was subsequently being airlifted to Baylor Scott and White in Temple.

Through the investigation, detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit were able to identify the suspect in this incident. On September 5, 2021, the case was presented to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and a complaint was returned charging 24-year-old Nakealon Keunte Mosley with Aggravated Assault Family Member with a Deadly Weapon. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke issued a warrant for his arrest and set his bond at $500,000. Mosley was located and arrested. He is currently in the Bell County Jail.

The current condition of the victim is stable but critical.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no other information at this time.
