Killeen Police Investigate a report of a shooting in the 600 Block of W. Hallmark

On October 10, 2019, at approximately 6:46 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Hallmark in reference to multiple reports of a man shooting a handgun.  While enroute to the call, the updates indicated that the suspect at large was running in a northly direction and was randomly shooting his handgun.  The officers arrived in the area and a perimeter was established to locate the suspect.

The suspect in question was identified as:     Nathan Erick Nance, 43

As a precaution, KISD was notified and coordination was made for a safe pickup of kids being picked up for school.  KISD’s quick and full cooperation allowed us to get all of the kids to safety and out of the area in question.

The Department of Public Safety offered their full support and provided aerial support via a helicopter along with ground assets.  Several units of our own department including the K-9 officers, Tactical Response Unit and the Criminal Investigation Division assisted in the perimeter and search for Nance.

After an exhaustive search for Nance occurred without locating him, it was called off while the criminal investigation continued.  Updates on this case will be made when available.

No persons were injured during this ordeal.
