KPD Investigates Homicide on Bundrant
Killeen Police investigate Homicide at the Morgan Manor Apartments.
Officers responded to the 1500 block of Bundrant Drive at 8:08 p.m., on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, after receiving a 911 call in reference to a robbery. Upon the officers’ arrival they located a male victim lying on the ground, unconscious and not breathing; they immediately began performing CPR until Killeen Fire Department Paramedics arrival. Once the paramedics arrived, the victim was transported to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights. The victim succumbed to his injuries and Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced the victim deceased at 10:07 p.m.; an autopsy has been ordered to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. The name of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The preliminary information that was received by officers revealed that the victim was in the parking lot of the Morgan Manor Apartments located at 1506 Bundrant Drive, when he was approached by three (3) or four (4) individuals. During the verbal altercation, the suspects robbed the victim and brutally attacked him, causing multiple injuries; the unidentified suspects fled the area in an unknown vehicle.
Detectives are still working on obtaining information on the description of the suspects and the vehicle.
