KPD Investigates Early Morning Homicide

Killeen Police Investigate early morning shooting at the Bridgewater Apartments.

Officers were responding to numerous calls in reference to shots fired at 600 W. Hallmark Ave. on Monday, February 21, 2017, at 12:04am.  While officers’ were in route, the call was upgraded to a shooting.  Officers’ arrived to find a black male with a gunshot wound; he was immediately airlifted to the Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Donald Engleking at 2:35am.

The victim’s name has been withheld pending the notification of his next of kin.
