Killeen Police Investigate Deadly Drive By Shooting

Killeen Police investigate drive by shooting on Jeff Scott.

Officers responded to the 4400 block of Jeff Scott Drive at 11:23pm, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, after receiving several calls of shots fired in the area.  Upon the officer’s arrival they located a 36 year old male suffering from gunshot wounds at 4409 Jeff Scott Drive.

The preliminary investigation revealed that witnesses saw a dark colored vehicle drive by the area, when an unknown person began shooting from inside the vehicle, hitting the victim. The vehicle then fled south on Jeff Scott Drive.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced the victim deceased at 12:23am and ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The name of the victim has been withheld pending the notification of his next of kin.
