Killeen Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Fort Hood Street

Killeen Police are investigating a crash that occurred on S. Fort Hood Street in the evening hours of Saturday, January 4, 2014.

Officers received a 911 call at 7:12 pm in reference to a vehicle hitting a pedestrian in the 1100 block of S. Fort Hood Street.  Witnesses told officers that they saw a black male, wearing dark clothing standing in the center turn lane when a maroon Honda Accord, driven by a 64 year old female, was traveling north in the inside lane of the 1100 block of S. Fort Hood Street and attempted to turn left into the center turn lane when she hit the male.  Michael Miguel Thomas, 45 of Killeen, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at 7:43pm; no autopsy has been ordered at this time.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this crash and information will be released as it becomes available.
