KPD Asking for Help Identifying Forgery Suspect

The Killeen Police Department is asking if anyone can identify a suspect in a forgery case.

On Thursday, March 16, 2017, officers filed a forgery report after speaking with an employee from the “Go N Cash Check Cashing” business. The employee stated on September 9, 2016 at approximately 12:49 P.M., a male came to the business and cashed a check. On September 29, 2016 the check was returned to them showing to be a forged check.  During the course of the investigation detectives obtained a photograph of the suspect.

KPD Investigates Aggravated Robbery at Dollar General UPDATE

The Killeen Police Department is investigating an aggravated robbery of a Dollar General store.

Killeen Police responded to the Dollar General, located at 3107 E. Stan Schlueter Loop on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 10:02 p.m., after receiving a 911 call telling them the store had just been robbed.  Upon the officers’ arrival, they learned that two male suspects entered the store and demanded money from the clerk.  At least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun.  The men then fled the store on foot.

The suspects are described as follows:

1st Suspect is a black male, approximately 5’07” wearing a black hooded shirt, gray pants and white shoes.

2nd Suspect is a black male, approximately 5’07” with a bushy haircut, facial hair, wearing a gray hooded shirt with a black hat, black pants, and black shoes.

The Killeen Police Department Violent Crimes Unit continues to investigate this Robbery and information will be released as it becomes available.

KPD and CCPD Need Community Assistance to Identify Suspects

The Killeen Police Department is asking if anyone can identify two suspects using a stolen Visa card.

Killeen Police detectives are working hand in hand with Copperas Cove Police detectives on a credit/debit card abuse case were the victim filed a report with the Copperas Cove Police Department.  According to the victim, they were expecting a prepaid Visa card in the mail that was never received.  During the course of the investigation detectives were informed that the victims’ prepaid Visa had been used to make purchases at several businesses in Copperas Cove and Killeen.  Detectives were able view security footage of one of the unauthorized purchases and obtained this photograph of the two suspects.

Killeen Police need your help locating Bryant Pacheco, who may have information to assist the detectives in furthering their homicide investigation.  Detectives continue to investigate the homicide of Eric Dieter Hill, who was found deceased in the 6500 block of Taree Loop, on January 11, 2017.

KPD Interested in Speaking to a Female about Shooting

Killeen Police detectives are interested in speaking with a person about a shooting incident.

Detectives with the Killeen Police Department Criminal Investigations Homicide Unit are interested in speaking with a Sunshine Knopp in reference to a shooting that occurred at 702 Oak Hill Drive on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.  They believe this individual has pertinent information pertaining to the circumstances and or suspects involved in this incident.

KPD Investigates Afternoon Crash on Stan Schlueter

Killeen Police investigate afternoon crash on Stan Schlueter Loop.

Officers responded to the intersection of Stan Schlueter Loop and Trimmier Road on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 2:40 p.m., after learning that an officer was involved in a crash with his police cruiser.  Upon their arrival, they located a police cruiser and a silver Ford Fusion in the roadway.  The preliminary investigation revealed that the officer was responding code, with lights and sirens activated.  When he approached the intersection, the Ford Fusion crossed into the path of the police cruiser.  The officer was transported to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights and the male driver and child passenger of the Ford were transported to Metroplex Hospital; all in stable condition.

The officer and occupants of the Ford Fusion have all been released from the hospital.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this crash and information will be released as it becomes available.

KPD Investigates Vehicle Pedestrian Crash on Rancier

Killeen Police investigate vehicle / pedestrian crash on Rancier.

Officers responded to the 3300 block of E. Rancier Avenue at 10:23 p.m., on Friday, March 31, 2017, after receiving a 911 call that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.  Officers arrived to find an injured male and a white Toyota Avalon.  The male was immediately transported by ambulance to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights in critical condition.  The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the 2004 Toyota Avalon was traveling eastbound in the outside lane on Rancier Ave.  The male pedestrian was crossing southbound on Rancier Ave., when he failed to yield right of way to the vehicle and was struck by the Toyota.

The victim, 58 year-old Joseph Gregory Malbroue of Killeen, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown at 10:59 p.m. The driver of the Toyota was not injured in this crash.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this crash and information will be released as it becomes available.

Killeen Police Investigate Shooting

The Killeen Police Department is investigating a late night shooting.

Killeen Police Officers were dispatched to the Stone Hill Apartments located at 101 W Central Texas Expressway, on March 30, 2017 at 11:17 p.m. in reference to a gunshot victim.  Upon the officers’ arrival, they found a 18 year-old female victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.  She was transported to the Baylor Scott & White Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Officers were told that the victim was visiting the apartments when a gunshot was heard and the victim was wounded.

Suspects have been identified and this case continues to be investigated and information will be released as it becomes available.

KPD Investigates Crash on Interstate Highway 14 – UPDATE

The pedestrian involved in this incident, Darrell Kees, 44 of Katy, Texas, succumbed to his injuries this morning at Baylor Scott and White Hospital.  He was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Barfield at 5:17 a.m.  The Killeen Police Department continues to investigate this incident.  Investigators are still looking for the driver of the third vehicle involved in this incident.  Anyone with information is urged to call the Killeen Police Department at 254-501-8800 or Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS (8477).

Killeen Police investigate a late night crash on Interstate Highway 14.

Killeen Police responded to a 911 call in reference to a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11:22 p.m.  Upon the officers’ arrival, they found a white male lying on the ground near the Trimmier Exit off ramp; he was immediately airlifted to the Baylor Scott and White Hospital in critical condition.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a white Ford F350 was traveling westbound in the middle lane on IH-14 when the driver noticed a pedestrian attempting to cross northbound on the interstate.  As the driver attempted to change lanes to the outside lane, the left side of her vehicle struck the pedestrian.  A white Chevy Sonic and an unknown vehicle were also traveling westbound in the outside and exit lanes, when the pedestrian was seen in the roadway near the exit ramp.  The pedestrian was struck first by the Chevy Sonic and subsequently struck by the unknown vehicle, which fled the scene. The occupants of the vehicles reported no injuries.

The current condition of the 44 year-old male pedestrian is critical but stable.
