KILLEEN POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A MURDER

Killeen, TX (September 22, 2020): A 48-year old male is wanted for Murder after shooting a female at a residence in the 2600 block of Lewis Street. 

The Killeen Police Department was called on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at approximately 8:22 p.m., to a residence in reference to a shooting victim.  Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound.   She was airlifted to Baylor Scott and White in critical condition. 

On Monday, September 21, 2020, the victim, 43-year old Emma Jones, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at 8:10 p.m. by Justice of the Peace GW Ivey. 

Through the investigation detectives found that the victim and suspect were involved in a domestic disturbance which led to the shooting.  The suspect was identified by witnesses on scene. 

The case was presented to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and a complaint was returned charging 48-year old Chance Anthony Harrison with Murder.

A warrant has been issued for Harrison’s arrest and he is considered armed and dangerous.

Update to Death Investigation on Williamette Lane

UPDATE – September 18, 2020

The 14-year-old juvenile pronounced deceased on Monday, September 14, 2020 is identified as Jervontrae Robinson.  Robinson was at his residence when he suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.  Killeen Police Homicide Detectives have interviewed an additional juvenile that was present when the shooting occurred.  The case continues to be investigated and is considered a murder investigation.  Further information will be released as it becomes available.

Killeen Police Conduct Death Investigation 

On Monday, September 14, 2020, at approximately 4:02 p.m., Killeen Police were dispatched to the 5000 block of Williamette Ln. in reference to an unresponsive juvenile within the residence.  Upon officer’s arrival they began CPR and the juvenile was transported to Darnall Army Medical Center.  

The juvenile, a 14-year-old male, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at 5:43 p.m.  He ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.  The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.

Killeen Police Investigate Traffic Fatality on IH 14

Traffic Fatality on Interstate 14

On Friday, September 18, 2020, at approximately 6:54 a.m. the Killeen Police Department responded to an auto pedestrian crash on westbound Interstate 14, near Rosewood Drive, after receiving several 911 calls.  Officers arrived on scene and found a 77-year-old male fatally injured.  Several citizens had stopped to render first aid and pull the male from the roadway.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit responded to investigate the accident.  Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced the male deceased at 7:43 a.m.  An autopsy has been ordered to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.  The name of the deceased individual is being held pending next of kin notification.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the 77-year-old male was walking westbound, in the center lane of westbound IH 14, pushing a bicycle, when he was struck by multiple vehicles.  Several vehicles that struck the male did not stop and the Traffic Unit would like to speak with the operators of those vehicles, or any other witnesses, about the accident.  The case remains under investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.

Offense upgraded to Murder Investigation

On Wednesday, September 16, 2020, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division were notified that the victim in this offense succumbed to their injuries.  The victim is identified as Jonathon Allen Hampton, 24, of Killeen.  Justice of the Peace Theodore Duffield pronounced Hampton deceased at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple.  An autopsy was ordered to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest.  The images are of an individual wanted for questioning related to this offense.  This individual also owns, or had access to, the white Volvo S60 pictured in the security footage.

On Monday, September 14, 2020, at approximately 2:19 a.m., Killeen Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Fairview Dr. in reference to a shooting.  The victim, a 24-year-old male, was transported by helicopter to Baylor Scott and White in Temple.  The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and remains in critical condition.

We Need the Public’s Help Identifying Two Persons of Interest


On March 16, 2020, officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Lake Road in reference to a 911 call about shots fired. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located an unresponsive male in the parking lot of an apartment complex suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, Terrance Darnell Iles, 22, was pronounced deceased at the scene.


Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, Homicide Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying these individuals. We know the images are distorted and blurry but if you recognize them or have any information about this Homicide, please contact (254) 501-7822.

Drug Distributor Arrested in Killeen

The Killeen Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, Organized Crime Unit in conjunction with the Bell County Sheriff’s Department conducted a narcotics investigation on a suspected narcotic distributor. 

On Friday, August 28, 2020, Vincent Barnett, 42, was located and arrested at the Killeen Regional Airport without incident.  The suspect was found to be in possession of approximately 220 grams of Heroin, 60 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a large sum of U.S. currency. The street value of the narcotics seized is approximately $17,800.

This investigation was successful due to the cooperation and communication between the Killeen Police Department and the Bell County Sheriff’s Department.

Suspect Arrested in Triple Homicide

Update – August 28, 2020

Through investigation, detectives with the Killeen Police Department Homicide Unit identified a suspect in this case.  On August 20, 2020, this case was presented to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and a complaint was returned charging Barnard Lnell Morrow, 21, with Capital Murder of Multiple Persons.  A warrant for Morrow’s arrest was issued by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke on August 20, 2020 with a suggested bond amount of two million dollars.

Killeen Police and members of the US Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, in their attempt to locate Morrow found that he had fled the City of Killeen and could potentially be in Newton, MS.  Assistance was requested from the US Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) in locating Morrow.

On August 28, 2020, at approximately 6:00 a.m., members of the GCRFTF arrested Morrow in the 1600 block of Pecan Rd., Newton, MS, without incident.  Morrow was transported to the Lauderdale County Jail and is awaiting extradition back to Bell County.

The Killeen Police Department would like to thank the US Marshals for their assistance in apprehending Morrow.

“The department wishes to express its condolences to the family and friends of the victims of this tragedy.  I wish to thank our officers and detectives for their dedicated service in reaching a conclusion in this investigation,” Killeen Police Chief Charles Kimble.

UPDATE – March 17, 2020

The three victims have been identified as Asia Cline, 22, Shaquan Markell Allred, 23, and Freddy Beningo Delacruz Jr., 23.

Killeen Police Investigate a Triple Homicide.

On Saturday, March 14, 2020, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Killeen Police were dispatched to the Summerlyn Apartments located at 4101 E. Rancier Avenue in reference to shots fired call.  Officers’ checked the area and were unable to locate the source.  At approximately 1:40 a.m. officers received another call, in reference to a water leak coming from one apartment leading to another. Upon investigation of the source of the water leak officers found an unlocked apartment and attempted to contact the tenant. Officers upon entry to the apartment located three victims deceased, having gunshot wounds.

The victims, two males and one female in their early twenties were pronounced deceased at 2:46 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Daryl Peters.  He ordered autopsies to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.  The investigation is ongoing, and names of the victims will not be released pending next of kin notification.

Killeen Police Search for Missing Person

The Killeen Police Department is currently investigating the report of a missing person.  We are asking the community if anyone has seen a missing soldier who has not been heard from by his family since Monday, August 17, 2020.

Family members of Elder Fernandez, 23, reported to officers on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 that he was last seen by his Staff Sergeant on Monday afternoon when he dropped him off at his residence located in the 2700 block of Woodlands Drive in Killeen. 

Elder Fernandez is approximately 5’4” tall and weighs approximately 133 pounds. He was last seen wearing black army PT shorts and t-shirt with red athletic shoes.
