KILLEEN POLICE IDENTIFIES SHOOTING VICTIM

Killeen, TX (June 3, 2021): The victim from the shooting incident was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile through fingerprints by the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences. Due to the age of the victim, his name will not be released.

This investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information at this time.

UPDATE NEWS RELEASE: THE VICTIM FROM SHOOTING INVESTIGATION DIES FROM INJURIES

Killeen, TX (June 1, 2021): The victim succumbed from his injuries on Monday, May 31, 2021. Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson pronounced him deceased at 3:02 p.m.

The victim did not have any identification on him, and his identity is pending results from the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

During the investigation, a Person of Interest was apprehended with the assistance of a K9 Officer for an unrelated warrant.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are asking if anyone has any information or video from this incident, please contact the police department at (254) 501-8800.

This is the fourth criminal homicide of the year.

NEWS RELEASE: KILLEEN POLICE ARE ON THE SCENE OF A SHOOTING

Killeen, TX (May 31, 2021): On Monday, May 31, 2021, at approximately 1:21 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Dickens Drive in reference to a shots fired disturbance.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a male on the side of the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to the Carl R. Darnall Medical Center in critical condition. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are currently on scene investigating this incident.

There is no imminent danger to the area.

KILLEEN POLICE CONDUCT A DEATH INVESTIGATION

Killeen, TX (June 1, 2021): On Monday, May 31, 2021, at approximately 4:24 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Adams Avenue in reference to a suspicious circumstances call.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a deceased body in the backyard of a residence. Officers were unable to locate any identification and the body was sent to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. The identity is pending the results from the medical examiner.
