On October 10, 2016 at about 9:19 PM, Officers responded to an aggravated robbery at the Mickey’s Convenience Store located at 4701 Clear Creek.  Upon arrival, Officers met with the clerk who reported that a black male wearing a white ball cap, brown vest over a dark shirt entered the store and pointed a handgun, demanding money.  A second suspect, a white male wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and brown pants, waited at the door.  After removing the money from the register, both suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Later,  around 10:36 PM, Killeen Police Officers responded to reported aggravated robbery at the Star Mart located at 1704 Old FM 440.  Officers met with the clerk of Star Mart and learned that a white male entered the store wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and tan pants.  The suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at the clerk, demanding money.  A second suspect, a black male who had previously entered the store and made a purchase, stood at the door and waited for the first suspect.  Both suspects fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Killeen Police believe the robberies are related.  The white male is described as  18-22 years old, 5’ 07” to 5’ 10” tall, medium build.  The black male is described as 18-22 years old, 5’ 07” to 5’ 10” tall, thin build.  They are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

On September 4, 2016, a suspect burglarized a vehicle in Killeen.  A debit card was stolen and was later used to purchase an iPad at the Harker Heights Walmart.  Detectives are trying to identify the suspect shown on security video.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male approximately 6 feet tall and 170 pounds.

Killeen Police investigate deadly altercation at Shell station.

Officers responded to the report of shots fired in the parking lot of the Shell Gas Station located at 1600 N. Roy Reynolds Drive, on Friday, October 07, 2016, just after 9:00pm.  Upon the officers arrival they located one male who was suffering from a gunshot wound.  Lifesaving measures were attempted but the male succumbed to his wounds.  The 38 year old male was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at 9:54pm, he also ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The preliminary investigation revealed that there was an altercation between two males that involved weapons, shots were fired, one male was shot and the other male fled the area on foot in a northern direction.  Officers continue to look for the male who fled.

The name of the deceased male has been withheld pending the notification of his next of kin.

Killeen Police and U.S. Marshal’s Office arrest a man wanted for Murder.

On Thursday, October 06, 2016, the Killeen Police Department was contacted by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force of the U.S. Marshal’s office, for assistance in apprehending a man who was wanted for Murder in Jefferson Parrish, Louisiana.   The Tactical Response Unit and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force were able to make contact at 3901 Mustang Drive at 11:42am, and arrested 27 year old Rashaud Robinson, without incident, for warrants charging him with one count of 1^st Degree Murder and two counts of 1^st Degree Attempted Murder.  He was transported to the Bell County Jail to await his extradition.

Any information about these charges will need to be addressed by the Jefferson Parrish Police Department.

Killeen Police announce Community Crime Map.

The Killeen Police Department is pleased to announce the return on an online crime mapping resource formerly known as Raids Online.  This service is back online after being unavailable during a major records management system upgrade and data migration.  Now called Community Crime Map, this service allows us to share crime data online with the public. This application includes basic mapping, dashboards and analytics.  Community Crime Map goes beyond crime mapping by allowing the public to sign up for alerts regarding recent crime activity.  It is a free service to the public.

The Community Crime Map is updated daily and contains crime data for Killeen back to 2010.  In compliance with state law, some information such as certain victims will not be displayed.  The Killeen Police Department encourages the public to use this tool to become better informed regarding crime in our community.

Killeen Police investigate a social media threat.

This morning, the Killeen Police Department began receiving messages from concerned citizens regarding a social media post.  A user in a clown costume posted specific threats on social media regarding Halloween in Killeen.

Although the Killeen Police Department has no reason to believe at this time that the threats are credible, they are nonetheless disturbing and are being taken seriously.  These threats are being thoroughly investigated and although this post made no specific threats to the Killeen Independent School District, our department is working closely with KISD to keep them abreast of the situation.

The Killeen Police Department will be patrolling Killeen neighborhoods to help ensure a happy and safe Halloween for everyone.

Killeen Police need help identifying a theft suspect from an incident earlier today.

Officers were contacted this morning about a male who entered the Mickey’s Convenience Store located at 2101 S.W.S. Young Drive and paid for gas and a pack of cigarettes.  As he male was leaving the store he stole a bullet shaped flashlight off the front counter.  The male then went to the building next door located at 2103 S.W.S. Young Drive; the building is being prepped to open as a gun store.  The male stole a security camera that was attached to the building and fled the area in a white GMC or Chevrolet step side pickup.

Killeen Police need your help identifying the suspects in a Burglary of a Building.

On Wednesday, September 21, 2016, officers responded to the Mickey’s Convenience Store located in the 900 block of W Jasper Road in reference to a burglary of a building. Upon the officer’s arrival, they found the glass door broken and a cash register was stolen.

During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to obtain a photograph of the suspect.

UPDATE – September 22, 2016

The Calvert Police Department received information on the whereabouts of Nicholas Dewayne Boyd, who was wanted for Aggravated Robbery, on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.  The information received was that Boyd was staying at a location in Calvert, TX.  The Calvert Police Department, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and the State Troopers responded to the location and took Nicholas Dewayne Boyd into custody without incident.  He was transported to the Robertson County Jail.  

Killeen Police are searching for a man who is wanted for Aggravated Robbery.

Officers responded to the Amco Hotel, located at 404 S. Fort Hood St. on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at 12:46am, in reference to a shooting that had just occurred.   While officers were responding to the scene they were told the suspect goes by the name “No Good” and he was driving a black SUV north from the hotel.  The suspect was described as a black male with dreadlocks, wearing a red and black striped shirt and black pants.  Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  The female victim was transported by the Killeen Fire Department paramedics to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in serious condition.  The officers learned that the male was attempting to rob the female and shot her in the stomach; he then fled the area in a black SUV.

Killeen Police investigate two early morning Robberies.

Killeen Police responded to a report of a Robbery at The 7-11 Convenience Store located at 1000 N. WS Young Drive, on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 5:31am.  Upon the officers arrival they were told that a black male entered the store, displayed a weapon and demanded money from the store clerk.  After a few words were exchanged, the suspect exited the store and fled on foot in an unknown direction.  No one was injured in this incident.

Officers were notified at 5:43am of another Robbery at the Mickey’s Convenience Store located at 4808 Westcliff Road.  The officers were told that a black male approached the store clerk who outside in front of the store, displayed a weapon and demanded money.  The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction after a few words were exchanged.  No one was injured during this incident.

The suspect in both Robberies is described as a thin black male, approximately 5’6” tall and was last seen wearing; a gray t-shirt, blue jeans and a white t-shirt covering his face.
