KPD Conducts Death Investigation

The Killeen Police Department is conducting a death investigation on Trotwood Trail.

Officers responded to the 4000 block of Trotwood Trail at 2:54am, today, in reference to assisting EMS.  The officers arrived and assisted paramedics when they located a unresponsive male who was bleeding severely; he was immediately transported to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical authorities at the hospital.

Officers learned through the investigation that there was a domestic dispute involving a female and the male, at some point during the argument the male received an injury that required medical assistance. Officers took the female into custody and transported her to the Killeen City Jail where she will remain until this case is reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and formal charges are returned.

The names of the male and female have been withheld at this time. This case continues to be investigated and information will be released as it becomes available.

KPD Needs Help Indentifying Forgery Suspect

Killeen Police need assistance identifying a Forgery suspect.

A representative from the First National Bank contacted the Killeen Police Department on Monday, December 1, 2014, to report that a female passed two forged checks.  The reporting person stated that back in August of this year, the female suspect shown in this photo, cashed the forged checks and provided a fictitious account.

Killeen Police Identify Victims from Godman Shooting

Killeen Police investigate Sunday night shootings on Godman.

Officers responded to a 911 call of a disturbance, on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 10:26pm, in the 1700 block of Godman. As officers were responding to the call, they were told that a male was armed and shots had been fired. Upon the officers’ arrival they located several gunshot victims at 1706 Godman and were told the suspect had fled with his wife, back to his residence at 1710 Godman. Shortly thereafter shots were heard coming from inside that residence.  The Tactical Response Unit was deployed to the scene and several attempts were made to speak with the male however they received no response. The TRU Officers made entry into the house at 12:26am and located the male and female deceased with gunshot wounds.

The victims have been identified as 31 year old Lydia Farina, 40 year old Larry Guzman and 28 year old Dawn Giffa. The suspect has been identified as 30 year old Fort Hood soldier, Atase Giffa.  The 41 year old female victim, who remains in critical condition at Scott & White Memorial Hospital, will not be identified at this time.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to investigate this incident and information will be released as it becomes available.

KPD Investigates Shootings on Godman

Killeen Police investigate Sunday night shootings on Godman.

Officers responded to a 911 call of a disturbance, on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 10:26pm, in the 1700 block of Godman. As officers were responding to the call, they were told that a male was armed and shots had been fired. Upon the officers’ arrival they located several gunshot victims at 1706 Godman and were told the suspect had fled with his wife, back to his residence at 1710 Godman. Shortly thereafter shots were heard coming from inside that residence.  The Tactical Response Unit was deployed to the scene and several attempts were made to speak with the male however they received no response. The TRU Officers made entry into the house at 12:26am and located the male and female deceased with gunshot wounds.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the 30 year old male suspect shot a 29 year old female; a 41 year old female and a 40 year old male at 1706 Godman. He then forced his 28 year old wife back to their residence at 1710 Godman. Justice of the Peace, Garland Potvin, pronounced the 40 year male deceased at 1:07am, the 29 year old female deceased at 1:11am, the 30 year old male suspect deceased at 1:19am and his 28 year old wife deceased at 1:21am, and ordered autopsies to be performed on all the victims at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The 41 year old female victim was transported to the Baylor Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple in serious condition.

The names of the victims have been withheld pending notification of their next of kin.

This incident continues to be investigated and information will be released as it becomes available.

KPD Needs Assistance Identifying Forgery Suspect

Killeen Police are asking for the community’s assistance identifying a forgery suspect.

Officers filed a report on Saturday, December 13, 2014, for forgery, after a citizen came in to the Killeen Police Department and told the officer that someone tried to deposit an unauthorized check into the their bank account. The citizen told the officer they lost their wallet somewhere in Killeen on Thursday, December 11, 2014 and noticed a problem with the bank account on Friday, December 12, 2014.

Attached are photographs, obtained by detectives, of the forgery suspect and the vehicle, a white Chrysler 300, the suspect was driving.

KPD Needs Help Indentifying Robbery Suspect

Killeen Police are asking for the community’s help identifying a robbery suspect.

Officers responded to a 911 call on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 7:30 pm, telling them of a suspicious person at Golden Coral located at 1420 E. Central Texas Expressway.  Upon the officers arrival they were told that a male came into the restaurant and waited until there were no customers at the cash register. The suspect then made his way to the cashier and demanded the employee open the cash register; employee called out for help and the suspect fled the restaurant in an unknown direction. No one was injured during this incident.

Detectives were able to obtain photos of the suspect.  The suspect was described as a white male with short black hair, wearing a white ball cap and sunglasses, approximately 5’8” tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has a tattoo on his right hand and had black tape wrapped around all of his finger tips.

KPD Investigates Weekend Robberies, Can You Identify The Suspect?

Killeen Police are investigating several weekend Robberies.

Officer responded to an Aggravated Robbery on Saturday, January 24th at 10:32pm, at the KBS Food Mart located at 3000 old FM 440.  The suspect entered the store and demanded money.  At some point a shot was fired then the suspect fled on foot.  No one was injured during this robbery.

Officers again responded to an Aggravated Robbery on Saturday, January 24th at 11:33pm, at the 7-11 Convenience Store located at 1000 S.W.S. Young Dr.  The suspect entered the store, demanded money and fled on foot.

On Sunday, January 25th, at 10:04pm, officers responded to an Aggravated Robbery at the Star Mart located at 1310 W. Stan Schlueter loop.  The suspect entered the store, demanded money and fled on foot.

Officers responded to an Aggravated Robbery on Sunday, January 25th at 11:35pm, at the Super Quick Food Mart located at 3101 W. Stan Schlueter loop.  The suspect entered the store and demanded money then fled on foot.

During all of these robberies, the suspect was wearing all dark clothing. During the investigation it has been determined that the same suspect is responsible for all four robberies.

Murder Suspect Located in Del Rio, Texas

Just after midnight, on January 19, 2015, the Del Rio Police Department located a man with a with a self inflicted gunshot wound sitting in his vehicle in a McDonalds parking lot. Upon learning who this male was, the Del Rio Police Department contacted the Killeen Police Department and confirmed this man was the suspect in the murder of Christina Yvette McDaniel on Saturday, January 17, 2015.  The male, 39 year old Franklin Rafael Aguilar of Killeen, was transported to the Val Verde Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

This murder occurred on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 4008 Stallion Drive when Christina and Franklin were involved in an argument and he shot her multiple times; Franklin immediately fled the area.

KPD Investigates Homicide on Stallion Drive

Killeen Police are investigating a late Saturday night shooting on Stallion Drive.

Officers responded to the 4000 block of Stallion Drive at 11:45pm, on Saturday, January 17, 2015, after receiving numerous 911 calls of shots being fired. Upon the officers’ arrival they located a female lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; she was unconscious and not breathing.  The Killeen Fire Department EMS arrived and placed her into the ambulance but was unable to resuscitate her.  Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene at 12:26am; he ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The preliminary information that was received by officers revealed that the victim had come to 4008 Stallion with the female who resides there. There was an argument between the female resident and a male that was at the residence.  The male then went outside and began arguing with the victim; at some point the male displayed a handgun and shot the victim multiple times.  He fled the area immediately after the altercation.

The victim has been identified as 31 year old Christina Yvette McDaniel of Killeen.

The name of the male has been withheld at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

KPD Investigating Daytime Robbery

Killeen Police are investigating a Robbery in the 800 block of W. Rancier Ave.

Officers responded to a 911 call on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 10:35am, telling them of a Robbery that had just occurred at the Boost Mobile located at 810 W. Rancier Ave. Upon the officers arrival they were told that a black male entered the store and inquired about purchasing a cell phone.  The employee and the suspect exchanged a few words when the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money.  The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store on foot southbound from the area.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male with a goatee, about 6’2” tall, wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a blue beanie with white stripes.
