NEWS RELEASE: KILLEEN POLICE INVESTIGATE A HOMICIDE ON LAURA DRIVE

Killeen, TX (September 25, 2025): The Killeen Police Department identified a suspect in this case as Yannie Kelvin Chishimba. On 09/24/25, the KPD Robbery/Homicide Unit was notified by the Texas Department of Public Safety they located a vehicle on the side of US Highway 190 in Lampasas County. Mr. Chishimba was located inside the vehicle deceased. After further investigation, it was revealed Mr. Chishimba died as a result of suicide.

No other information will be released at this time.

Killeen, TX (September 23, 2025): The Killeen Police Department is actively investigating the death of a 23-year-old following a shooting incident.

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at approximately 1:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Laura Drive in reference to a shooting victim. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim deceased from a gunshot wound inside his residence.

The victim, Jaquarious Fenn, was pronounced deceased at 4:40 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson. He ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was inside the home with the suspect when he was shot. The suspect fled the scene after the shooting. This is an ongoing investigation. This is an isolated incident.
