KILLEEN POLICE INVESTIGATE A SHOOTING OF A 15-YEAR-OLD ON SHOEMAKER DR
Killeen TX (October 31st, 2024): On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 8:18 PM, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1700 Block of Shoemaker Dr in reference to a call for a gunshot victim. Officers arrived on scene and located a 15-year-old juvenile female suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported by helicopter to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX. The victim is in serious but stable condition.
Detectives with the Robbery/Homicide Unit are asking anyone who may have information on this shooting, or if they have videos or security footage of these areas, to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 254-501-8830.

Killeen Police Officer Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated
Killeen, TX (October 30, 2024): On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at approximately 7:11 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Stagecoach Road in reference to a disturbance inside a vehicle. Through the investigation it revealed that the driver, an off-duty Killeen Police Officer, was driving the vehicle while intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Killeen City Jail. Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman arraigned the officer and set his bond at $3000.
The officer is an 8-year veteran of the department.
The Killeen Police Department has initiated an Internal Affairs investigation and the police officer has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
No other information will be released at this time.

Killeen Police Identifies the 37-year-old Murder Victim
Killeen, TX (October 29, 2024): UPDATE- Detectives with the Robbery-Homicide Unit have identified the victim as Anthony Glenn Powell.
Detectives are actively investigating this Murder, and no further information is available at this time.

NEWS RELEASE: KILLEEN POLICE INVESTIGATE THE EIGHTEENTH MURDER OF 2024
Killeen, TX (October 17, 2024): Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the death of an adult male.
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call in reference to a gunshot victim in the 800 block of W. Avenue D. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a 37-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was airlifted to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in critical condition.
The victim unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Larry Wilkey at 6:34 a.m. on October 17, 2024. He ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.
The name of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
There is no threat to the community related to this incident.
Detectives with the Robbery-Homicide Unit are actively investigating this Homicide and there is no additional information at this time.
