Killeen Police Charge Suspect in Kidnapping and Assault Case
Killeen, TX (November 12, 2025): On Saturday, October 11, 2025, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Oakhill Drive in reference to a kidnapping. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2-year-old child was being babysat by a family friend when an unrelated male unlawfully entered the home and took the child.
The suspect placed the child in the front seat of a vehicle without a car seat, causing visible injury to the child. When the babysitter attempted to intervene, the suspect assaulted her before fleeing the scene with the child. The babysitter immediately called 911 to report the kidnapping.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives with the Special Victims Unit identified the suspect as 33-year-old Audrea Jaron McCuin who is also known to go by the name “Dre.” On November 6, 2025, the Bell County District Attorney’s Office issued a complaint for Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Kidnapping. Additional complaints were issued for Endangering a Child and Injury to a Child. Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman issued warrants for the arrest of McCuin.
Prior to these felony charges, Audrea Jaron McCuin had been served with four misdemeanor warrants, including False Report, Assault Bodily Injury, and Interference with an Emergency Phone Call.

Killeen Police Arrest Male for Capital Murder
Killeen, TX (April 22, 2024): A 28-year-old male is currently in Bell County Jail for Capital Murder.
On April 29, 2023, officers were dispatched to McLane’s Children’s Hospital regarding an injured child where abuse was suspected in a residence in Killeen. The 2-year-old child was reported to have a subdural hematoma to the head and multiple rib fractures. The child suffered respiratory failure as a result of her neurologic injury and died as a result of her injuries on May 2, 2023. An autopsy concluded that the victim suffered a skull fracture, and her cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries to the brain.
Through the investigation, it was determined that the victim’s father and mother would strike the victim with a belt and stick. The victim’s father used a closed fist to spank the victim and would push and shake her. The victim’s mother stated that she observed her spouse strike the children with his fists and other objects but focused the abuse primarily at the victim. Approximately one week prior to the victim’s death, the mother observed her spouse strike the victim’s head with a stick.
The case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and on April 15, 2024, a complaint was issued charging Ronald Vernon Legette with Capital Murder and a complaint was issued charging 30-year-old Portia Marquise Waller with Injury to a Child with Intentional Injury.
The investigation is ongoing and at this time no other information will be released.

Killeen Police Arrest Suspect involved in Infant’s Death
Officers responded to the 3600 block of Littleleaf Drive at 11:58 a.m., on Tues, January 14, 2020, after receiving a 911 call in reference to an unresponsive and not breathing two month old male infant. Upon the officer’s arrival, they immediately began performing CPR until Killeen Fire Department Paramedics arrived and transported the infant to Advent Health. At approximately 1:00 p.m., Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman pronounced the infant, Quan Kendrick Devin Scott, deceased and ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.
Through the investigation, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, Special Victims Unit, revealed that a caretaker had intentionally caused injuries to the infant. The Bell County District Attorney’s Office reviewed this case and returned a complaint charging Shaniquie Shaniel-Shavon Parker, 29, with Injury to a Child causing Serious Bodily Injury. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Parker and set her bond at $1,000,000. The suspect is currently awaiting transport to the Bell County Jail.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division Special Victims Unit continue to investigate this death and information will be released as it becomes available.
