Killeen Police Investigate Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 14

Killeen, TX (December 10, 2025): A 41-year-old male motorcyclist is in critical but stable condition following a crash involving a vehicle.

On December 9, 2025, at approximately 2:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to Interstate 14 regarding a crash involving a motorcycle. Upon arrival, officers located the motorcycle operator lying in the roadway. He was immediately airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in critical but stable condition.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a Suzuki motorcycle and a Ford Mustang were both traveling eastbound on I-14 at high rates of speed. Witnesses reported the motorcycle was weaving in and out of traffic and passing vehicles between lanes. At the time of the crash, the Mustang was moving into the inside lane from the center lane after passing another vehicle. The motorcycle was reportedly passing the same uninvolved vehicle between the lanes when the two involved vehicles sideswiped one another, causing the motorcycle to lose control and crash.

No injuries were reported from the Mustang.

All eastbound lanes of Interstate 14 were closed for approximately two hours.

Killeen Police Investigate a Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash

On Thursday, December 4, 2025, at approximately 4:33 p.m., officers responded to the 4800 block of E. Rancier Avenue for a single-vehicle crash. They arrived to find the vehicle off the roadway and on fire. The Killeen Fire Department extinguished the fire while paramedics treated the driver.

The preliminary investigation shows a gray Infiniti SUV was traveling eastbound at a very high speed when it left the roadway, entered a drainage culvert, and went airborne. The vehicle struck the ground near a tree line, continued forward, ran over several trees, and became airborne a second time. The driver was ejected when the vehicle came to rest on the opposite side of the tree line, where it caught fire. No other occupants were in the vehicle.

Despite life-saving efforts by KFD paramedics, the male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at 5:47 p.m.

The name of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate.

Killeen Police Investigate a Motorcycle Fatality on Old FM 440 Road

Killeen, TX (November 18, 2025): Killeen Police are investigating the death of a 50-year-old motorcycle operator.

On Monday, November 17, 2025, at approximately 6:54 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Old FM 440 Road and Pershing Drive in reference to a crash involving a motorcycle. Upon arrival, officers located a male lying in the roadway. He was immediately transported by Killeen EMS/Fire Department to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a black and white motorcycle was traveling westbound on Pershing Drive at a high rate of speed. The operator attempted to stop at the posted stop sign, however, due to his speed, he was unable to do so. The rider laid the motorcycle down just before entering the intersection, at which point a gray sedan traveling northbound on Old FM 440 Road, struck both the motorcycle and the rider in the intersection.

The motorcyclist, Edwin Cruzado Arce, of Killeen, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at 7:43 p.m. He ordered an autopsy to be performed at the at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The investigation further revealed that the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. The occupants of the sedan did not report any injuries.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this fatality, and there is no further information at this time.

Killeen Police Investigate a Hit-and-Run Crash Involving a Bicyclist

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Veterans Memorial Boulevard and Rev. R.A. Abercrombie Drive in reference to a report of a bicyclist being struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers located a male lying in the roadway with multiple injuries. The 58-year-old victim was transported by ambulance to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the bicyclist was traveling eastbound in the 2900 block of East Veterans Memorial Boulevard when he was struck by a newer model red Nissan sedan. The driver failed to stop and render aid and fled the scene. Witnesses reported that a large white pickup truck, possibly a Ram dually, traveling eastbound, also struck the victim and continued without stopping.

Killeen Police Investigate Motorcycle Fatality Crash on State Highway 195

UPDATE (October 15, 2025): Killeen Police identify the deceased motorcyclist as 21-year-old Amani Jovan Keo, of Harker Heights. This crash remains under investigation.

Killeen, TX (October 14, 2025): Killeen Police are investigating the death of a motorcyclist who struck a vehicle.

On October 14, 2025 at about 6:48 a.m., Killeen Police were responded to the 10700 blk of S Ft Hood St. (SH 195) in reference to a vehicle crash. Upon arrival initial officers discovered that a motorcycle and a pickup truck had been involved in a collision. The Traffic Unit was contacted and responded to the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a red 2004 Ford pickup was traveling southbound on Ft. Hood St. after leaving Splawn Ranch Rd. A black 2007 Honda motorcycle was traveling southbound at a very high rate of speed. Witnesses reported the rider attempted to engage in a race with another motorcycle. The motorcycle then struck the rear of the pickup while both were traveling southbound in the inside lane. The rider of the Honda, a 21-year-old male, was thrown to the shoulder of the roadway and was pronounced deceased on scene by Justice of the Peace Nicola James at 7:41 a.m.

A second motorcycle, a red 2024 Kawasaki, was also traveling southbound while in the outside lane and collided with debris from the initial crash, causing a secondary one-vehicle crash. The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries by Killeen Fire Department paramedics.

The investigation is on-going and no further information is available for release at this time.

Killeen Police Investigate Fatality Crash on Interstate 14

UPDATE: Killeen, TX (September 22, 2025): The motorcyclist who died in this crash has been identified as Jeffrey Pogany, 28. This investigation remains active and no further information is available at this time.

Killeen, TX (September 18, 2025): Killeen Police are investigating the death of a motorcyclist who was struck by a vehicle.


On September 18, 2025, at 4:17 a.m., Killeen Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a vehicle crash on westbound I-14 at the Trimmier overpass. Officers arrived and found that a motorcycle had been struck by a passenger car. The driver of the motorcycle was deceased on scene.


The KPD Traffic Unit responded to the scene and preliminary investigation indicates that a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle was travelling westbound on I-14, when it was overtaken and struck from the rear by a blue 2014 Honda sedan. Witnesses report that the Honda was traveling at an extremely high rate of speed when it overtook and struck the motorcycle. The Honda was being operated by a juvenile male at the time of the crash.


The 28-year-old male motorcyclist died at the scene. He was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Coleman at 6:32 a.m. No other injuries were reported.


This investigation is on-going and the interstate remains closed at the time of this release. We encourage the public to remain patient and choose alternative routes of travel, if possible.

Killeen Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Clear Creek Road

Killeen, TX (July 22, 2025): At approximately 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Killeen Police officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Clear Creek Road in reference to a major crash. Upon arrival, officers located a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV. The motorcycle operator sustained critical injuries and was transported by Killeen Fire Department EMS to Advent Health.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a black Jeep SUV was traveling southbound on Clear Creek Road and attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot, when it was struck by a white Yamaha motorcycle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. The motorcyclist was ejected and thrown a significant distance.

Multiple witnesses reported that just prior to the crash, the motorcycle was traveling at a very high rate of speed, weaving through traffic and cutting between other northbound vehicles.

The motorcycle operator, identified as 23-year-old Colton Griffin, was pronounced deceased at 3:29 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Nicola James, who has ordered an autopsy to be conducted at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The three occupants in the Jeep reported minor injuries.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this fatal crash. No further information is available at this time.

Suspect Arrested after Pursuit and Multi-Vehicle Crash

Killeen, TX (June 19,2025): On June 18, 2025, at 6:29 p.m., officers with the Violent Crime Action Team (VCAT) attempted to stop a white Subaru SUV involved in a narcotics investigation in the 600 block of S WS Young Drive when the driver fled, and a pursuit ensued towards south Killeen.

The suspect led officers southbound on Trimmier Road before turning east onto Lowes Boulevard. While fleeing on Lowes Boulevard, the suspect caused two crashes. The first involved minor damage to two vehicles exiting a parking lot. The suspect continued eastbound toward the intersection of Lowes Boulevard and W.S. Young Drive, where a second crash occurred involving a woman and infant in a Nissan sedan and a black Chevrolet pickup. The victims of the Nissan were treated at the scene by EMS and declined transport to the hospital. The driver of the pickup reported no injuries. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

Charges are pending through the Bell County District Attorney’s Office for Evading in a Vehicle and Delivery of Controlled Substance.

The investigation is ongoing and at this time no other information will be released.

Killeen Police Recover Stolen Vehicle and Arrest One Juvenile

Killeen, TX (April 16, 2025): On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at approximately 11:22 a.m., Killeen Police Officers located a Chevy Suburban that was reported stolen to our department earlier this morning, in the parking lot of the Killeen Mall. When the driver observed the marked patrol unit, the vehicle began to leave the area. The officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, but the driver refused and evaded through a nearby neighborhood, and eventually entered the property of Manor Middle School.

Upon entering the school property, the vehicle crashed into a fence and a series of drainage ditches. The vehicle came to a stop and the sole occupant, a 16-year-old male, fled on foot. Officers quickly pursued and safely took the juvenile into custody in the school’s parking lot. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash. He was later released and transported to juvenile detention.

Killeen Police Conduct a Death Investigation after a Single-Vehicle Crash

Killeen, TX (April 12, 2025): On Friday, April 11, 2025, at approximately 4:38 p.m., Killeen Police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of E. Veterans Memorial Boulevard in reference to a single-vehicle crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a blue SUV was traveling eastbound on Veterans Memorial Boulevard when the driver, a 70-year-old female, began experiencing a medical emergency. The vehicle crossed over the westbound lanes, left the roadway, and ultimately rolled into South Nolan Creek.

A bystander nearby immediately attempted to render aid, working to keep the driver’s head above water until emergency responders arrived. The Killeen Fire Department EMS transported the driver to Advent Health, where she later succumbed to her medical condition. Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson pronounced Kyong Cha Ganaha deceased at 5:18 p.m.

The Killeen Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to the scene and will conduct the investigation.
