Killeen Police Investigate Shooting on Wyoming Street

Killeen Police investigate shooting on Wyoming.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired at the 500 block of Wyoming, just after 8:00 pm on Wednesday March 5, 2014. Upon the officers’ arrival, they met with witnesses that said two black males were involved in a verbal altercation that turned violent after both men exchanged gun fire. They located one gunshot victim at 512 Wyoming; he was transported to the Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center and was subsequently transferred to the Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple. The other gunshot victim was located at 420 Gilmer; he was transported to the Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple. Both men are in stable condition at this time. No one else was injured during the altercation.

This case continues to be investigated and more information will be release as it becomes available.

Killeen Police Seek Vehicle Burglary Suspect

Killeen Police are asking for the community’s help by identifying a car burglar.

An officer responded to the 500 block of N. 8th on Sunday, February 16, 2014 just after 2:00pm, after the owner of a white 2008 Honda Accord found her vehicle burglarized. Upon their arrival, the officer met with the victim who told them that sometime between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, the window of her Honda Accord was broken out and her laptop computer was stolen.

Detectives were able to obtain this photo of the burglary suspect.  The suspect appears to be an older black male with a mustache wearing glasses.

Killeen Police Investigate Fatal Dog Attack

Killeen Police investigate a dog attack on several children.

Officers responded to a 911 call in reference to shots fired in the 4100 block of Pennington Drive on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 4:57pm. As officers were enroute, they were told that a dog had attacked several children.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they found a 2 year old male who was suffering from numerous dog bites. He was immediately transported to the Carl R. Darnell Army Medical Center in critical condition. Another child, an 8 year old female, was also a victim and she was transported as well.

Witnesses told officers that an 18 year old male, an 8 year old female and a 2 year old male were walking home from the playground when a Bull Mastiff ran out from the garage at 4108 Pennington Drive and began attacking the 8 year old female. Witnesses were able to get the dog away from the female but he turned and began to attack the 2 year old male. The dog dragged the child down the roadway when shots were fired from an unknown person. The dog let go of the child and ran back to the residence he came from.

The 2 year old victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 5:30pm by medical personnel. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke has ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

Killeen Animal Control took custody of the dog and he will be in their custody while the investigation is ongoing.

The 8 year old female is in stable condition; the names of the victims will not be released at this time.

This case continues to be investigated and information will be released as it becomes available.

Bell County Crime Stoppers Golf Tournament Coming April 4

The Bell County Crime Stoppers is now accepting teams who wish to play in their annual fundraising golf tournament. This tournament will take place on April 4, 2014 at 1:00PM at the Stonetree Golf Course in Killeen.

This has been a great event in the past years and we know it will be just as great again this year. This event is a 4 person scramble, the cost to play is $90 per person or $350 per team.

Killeen Police Seek Sunday IHOP Patrons

The Killeen Police Department is asking anyone who was at IHOP Restaurant during the early morning hours on Sunday, February 23, 2014, to contact the department.

Detectives, who are investigating the murder of Kirsten Nicole Farr, would like to speak to all the people who were at the IHOP when this murder occurred. They realize there were several people who may have left before the detectives could speak to them and they just wanted to ask a couple of questions for their investigation.

Murder Suspect Given $1,000,000 Bond

Murder Suspect 31 year old Thomas Jeremy Jones of Killeen, was given a $1,000,000 bond by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin. Jones was arrested on Sunday, February 23, 2014 for the Murder of Kirsten Nicole Farr while she was in a vehicle in the Killeen IHOP parking lot.

The Killeen Police Department is asking anyone who was at IHOP Restaurant during the early morning hours on Sunday, February 23, 2014, to contact the department.

Detectives, who are investigating the murder of Kirsten Nicole Farr, would like to speak to all the people who were at the IHOP when this murder occurred.  They realize there were several people who may have left before the detectives could speak to them and they just wanted to ask a couple of questions for their investigation.

Victim Identified and Murder Suspect Arrested

Officers responded to a 911 call, on Sunday February 23, 2014 at 3:14 am, in reference to a stabbing in the IHOP parking lot located at 700 W CTE. Upon the officers arrival they located a female who was suffering from multiple stab wounds; she was immediately transported to the Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition. The 21 year old victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at 3:53 am; Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin ordered an autopsy be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

According to witnesses, the female was a passenger in a gold Cadillac in the IHOP parking lot, when she was approached by her 31 year old ex-boyfriend. A verbal altercation began and quickly turned physical. The suspect stabbed the victim multiple times and fled the area. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate him.

UPDATE: 02/23/14

The victim has been identified as 21 year old Killeen resident Kirsten Nicole Farr.

This case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and a complaint was returned charging Thomas Jeremy Jones of Killeen, with Murder; Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin issued a warrant for his arrest. At 11:53am, the suspect was arrested at a residence in Nolanville without incident. He is currently in the Killeen City Jail and awaiting arraignment on Monday, February 24, 2014.

Upon the officers arrival they located a female who was suffering from multiple stab wounds; she was immediately transported to the Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition. The 21 year old victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at 3:53 am; Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin ordered an autopsy be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The name of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.

KISD School Donates to Killeen Animal Shelter

Several teachers and students from the Timber Ridge Elementary school have collected a large amount of towels for the Killeen Animal Shelter. This afternoon at 4:00pm, they will be at the shelter, located 3118 Commerce Drive, donating the towels.
