Killeen Police Are Conducting a Shooting Investigation

Killeen, TX (December 8, 2023): One person is in custody after a domestic violence incident involving a weapon.

On Friday, December 8, 2023, at approximately 1:34 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Basalt Drive in reference domestic disturbance. Upon the officers’ arrival, they observed a male exiting the residence and heard screaming inside. Officers detained the male and went inside the to find two females suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately started to perform life saving measures until paramedics arrived. One victim was transported to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center and the second victim was transported to Advent Health, both in critical condition.

The two females succumbed to their injuries. Their name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation is ongoing and at this time no other information will be released. There is no immediate threat to the public.

Female Deceased After Single Vehicle Crash

UPDATE: NEWS RELEASE – Killeen, TX (December 2, 2023): The driver, Emily Santiago Figueroa, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Nicola James at 8:52 p.m.

Traffic Investigators continue to investigate this fatality and there is no additional information at this time.

On Friday, December 1, 2023 at approximately 7:10 p.m., Killeen Police were dispatched to a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Trimmier Road and Stagecoach Road. Upon their arrival, the sole occupant of the vehicle, a 48 year-old female, was found to be suffering from serious injuries. Killeen EMS immediately transported her to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a white 2021 BMW SUV was traveling southbound on Trimmier Road at a high rate of speed, when it left the roadway, striking a concrete retaining wall on the south side of the intersection with Stagecoach Road.

The driver is currently in critical condition.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit is currently investigating and there is no additional information at this time.

Killeen, TX (December 1, 2023): On Friday, December 1, 2023 at approximately 7:10 p.m., Killeen Police were dispatched to a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Trimmier Road and Stagecoach Road. Upon their arrival, the sole occupant of the vehicle, a 48 year-old female, was found to be suffering from serious injuries. Killeen EMS immediately transported her to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.

Killeen Police Investigates a Fatality on Watercrest

Killeen, TX (November 25, 2023): Investigators with the Killeen Police Traffic Unit are investigating a motorcycle fatality.

On Friday, November 24, 2023, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Killeen Police responded to the intersection of Watercrest Drive and Bachelor Button Blvd. in reference to a crash involving three vehicles.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a silver 2022 Chevrolet pickup truck was stopped in the inside westbound lane on Watercrest Drive preparing to turn southbound onto Bachelor Button Blvd. waiting for eastbound traffic to clear. When a white 2018 Chevrolet SUV also traveling westbound in the inside lane, struck the rear of the pickup truck, forcing it into the eastbound lane.

A red and black 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle, occupied by two, was traveling in the eastbound lane on Watercrest Drive entering the intersection struck the pickup truck as it was pushed into the eastbound lane. The impact caused the passenger to be thrown over the pickup truck onto the roadway.

The drivers of the pickup truck and SUV reported injuries and were transported to Advent Hospital by Killeen Fire Department EMS. Both were treated and released. The driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in critical condition. His condition remains the same at this time.

The 34- year-old female passenger of the motorcycle, Jessikah Richardson, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at 6:20 p.m.

This fatality crash continues to be investigated and no other information will be released at this time.

Killeen Police Identifies Deceased Male

Killeen, TX (November 22, 2023): Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division Robbery-Homicide Unit have identified the male as Jamal Rasheed Williams.

Detectives continue to investigate this incident and at this time no other information will be released.

NEWS RELEASE: KILLEEN POLICE ARE CONDUCTING A SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

Killeen, TX (November 18, 2023): On Friday, November 17, 2023, at approximately 11:31 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Watercrest Rd in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a 43-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately started to perform life saving measures until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition. A second person, a 38-year-old female, was transported to Seton by personal vehicle, where she is in stable condition.

The male subject succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:08 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Nicola James. An Autopsy has been ordered.

The identity of the deceased has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Killeen Police Organized Crime Unit Arrest Three and Seize Narcotics

Killeen, TX (November 21, 2023): On Thursday, November 16, 2023, officers conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Dart for a traffic violation. Through the investigation, the driver gave officers consent to search the vehicle and illegal narcotics were located.

Detectives with the Organized Crime Unit arrived to assist in the investigation. Two (2) handguns were located (one stolen out of McClennan County), 187.5 grams of Methamphetamine, 3 grams of powder cocaine, 2 grams of marijuana, 7.3 grams of crack cocaine, and $2,486.00 cash.

The driver and two occupants were arrested and transported to the Killeen City. Two were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and the third male had active warrants out of Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing and at this time no other information will be released.

Killeen Police Conduct a Death Investigation

Killeen, TX (November 14, 2023): Killeen police are investigating after human remains were found Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 2:56 p.m. to the 1700 block of Copperfield Circle after witnesses told them remains were found in a wooded area.

The remains will be sent for an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas to determine the cause of death and identity.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information.

Killeen Police Investigate a Fatality on Rancier Avenue

Killeen, TX (November 8, 2023): A 32-year-old male is deceased after a two-vehicle collision.

On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at approximately 5:32 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of E. Rancier Avenue and Benttree Drive in reference to a 911 call about a crash involving two vehicles and a pinned operator.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a black Chevrolet Traverse was stopped at the intersection of Benttree Drive and E. Rancier Avenue attempting to make a left turn onto E. Rancier Avenue. Upon entering the intersection, the Traverse was struck by a blue Nissan Altima that was traveling westbound in the inside lane. Both drivers were transported to Baylor Scott & White in Temple in critical condition. The passenger of the Altima was also transported to Baylor Scott & White with minor injuries.

The driver of the Traverse, Christian Lamar Williams, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey at 7:25 p.m.

The driver of the Altima is currently listed in stable but critical condition.

The Traffic Unit continues to investigate this fatality and no other information will be released at this time.

I would like to thank those who participated in the Killeen Public Safety Townhall Meeting on Thursday, October 26th. As the Chief of Police of the Killeen Police Department, I am committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.
