Killeen Police Investigate a Motorcycle Fatality on Stan Schlueter Loop

Killeen, TX (December 21, 2024): A 29-year-old male is deceased after a colliding with a vehicle.

On Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 12:09 p.m., Killeen Police were dispatched to the intersection of Stan Schlueter Loop and Hitchrock Drive in reference to a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.  Upon the officers arrival, a motorcyclist was found to have sustained critical injuries. He was transported to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center by paramedics from the Killeen Fire Department.

Unfortunately, the operator of the of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:56 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a white Suzuki motorcycle was traveling westbound in the 2300 block of Stan Schlueter Loop at an extremely high rate of speed, reportedly weaving through traffic. The operator of the motorcycle attempted to brake to avoid a collision with a Toyota sedan turning onto Hitchrock Drive but lost control, falling over and separating from the motorcycle. The operator struck the sedan and the motorcycle continued westbound, ultimately coming to rest in the 2500 block of Stan Schlueter Loop. 

The name of the motorcyclist has been withheld pending notification of kin.

The driver of the sedan did not report any injuries.

The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this fatality and there is no further information at this time.
